Surveyor not placing any object or spline

Hello, I have just switched from RailWorks to Trainz 2010. I was trying out surveyor mode to create a new route. Unfortunately, it doesn't place objects or drag splines. When I choose on object or spline and click on the terrain, it does nothing. I also have only one texture in my paint menu. Could someone help me with this? If so, thanks...

Maybe you don't have a registered version of Trainz? Not sure why that would matter though.

Seems like a bad installation to me, but I'm no expert!

Could be not installing it and running it as Administrator in Win7 or Vista that is the problem? Also has fewer problems if you don't put it in Program Files.

If not that, run an Extended Database Repair, it's under the File Menu in Content Manager and go a watch the TV for a while while it fixes things.
