Surveyor and saving of selected clouds

My question relates to TRS2004

Surveyor does not save the particular cloud style selected, it always loads the default cloud style. Heavy snow from a clear blue sky is not at all common.

Is there some way to ensure that a specific cloud style is loaded with a route. Is there a 'clouds' tag that can be used in the config.txt or a rule that can be used for the same purpose. The weather rule changes only the weather.

Are you sure about that? When I save a map with a custom sky, it always reloads next time with that same sky and weather setting. It even remembers my diurnal cycle colours. I'm sure the sky appears in the config file (kuid-table) but I have no idea where it stores details of the diurnal cycle, weather etc.

You are quite correct, the custom sky does get saved. However, there is a big BUT involved.

If you change the sky and exit the route, the change does not trigger a 'save the map' routine BUT if you make any small change, Surveyor sees that, prompts a map save, and as an afterthought, it saves the custom sky as well.

That I where I went wrong. Working on a session, I changed the sky and the weather, did more work on the session, saved it, tested it, all was well, returned to Surveyor and the sky and weather were default.

Thanks muchly for the help.

Ah, so that's how it works. So the lesson is; if you make any change whatever, do a manual save to be sure it sticks. It's amazing after years of playing with TRS2004 we are still learning its idiosyncracies.
