Following on from previous correspondents, I am also operating a GeForce GTX 1060 video card and have just purchased/downloaded the basic version of TRS 2022.
Two questions: what minute by minute operating temperatures are member’s experiencing using TRS22; second, what temperature ranges are they comfortable with, or put another way, what temperature promotes any level of concern to the individual.
As I’m writing this my PC is recording a temperature of 31[SUP]0[/SUP]C. Log into Trainz and that figure climbs to around 41[SUP]0[/SUP]. From memory TRS19 routes (Medium setting with V/Sync at half) run satisfactorily at around the 47 – 51[SUP]0[/SUP] mark.
Using the same settings for TRS22, operating the route West from Denver – Winter Park Train Westbound - driving in cab control mode - temperaarture hit 62[SUP]0[/SUP] within the first minute, then continued to fluctuate between 53 and 62[SUP]0[/SUP] over the entire journey which included three 5 second freeze-outs along the route and was terminated just short of the final destination with a total image freeze. (Ctrl-Alt-Delete followed by extended DataBase Repair).
A second run with C&O Hinton - Thurmond Empties produced temperature fluctuation in the range 52 through to 63[SUP]0[/SUP] but principally around the 55[SUP]0[/SUP] mark. Otherwise a totally uneventful run.
Working on a WIP in Surveyor Mode produces a temperature around 47[SUP]0[/SUP].
I understand that some routes are more demanding than others and I accept that my PC, while fine some 5/6 years ago when new, is now being tested more severely. Am just trying to formulate a plan of action.
Any thoughts?
John
