"Suggestions Boxcar" Black Hole?

Hi

About a week ago I posted a suggestion to "Suggestion Boxcar" and as of the time of writing it has not appeared on the forum.

I appreciate that that forum is moderated and that the moderators have something better to do than instantly respond to a new post. However I would have thought a week was enough time to ensure that my post was on topic, contained no expletives and didn't contain any 'flammable' content.

I thought my observation was reasonable and practical but now I feel slightly stupid that anybody would be interested in my views and will be reluctant to participate in the future.

My suggestion, if anybody is interested, is that as part of the "New Route" set up one is given the choice of what colour baseboard and grid lines you want. Additionally that in "Driver" the grid lines are not visible. The idea being that large tracts of the baseboard would not need texturing thus saving on memory and processing.

Just a thought and now I will join the "Silent Majority" who just read and don't contribute to the forums . . . unless a reasonable explanation is forthcoming as to why my post was snubbed.

Cheers

Hello Martin,

Long time no talk!

Unfortunately, the suggestion boxcar is very picky about what gets on it. I have posted 4 threads and several responses and none have ever made it there. As you mention, my suggestions have never been "inflammatory" nor "deflammatory" - at least so I believe.

I have totally given up on that part of the forum and now no longer look at it at all and likely never will again. I simply post my suggestions now under what I feel will draw the largest response - put it out to the wind if you will. At least it will be read that way.

Any way, I will now let the flaming begin. I do know that several of the forum regulars will be along very soon to do so.

Have a great one Martin,

Bricey

Hi Brian

Hope you and your dog are well. I am remiss in not being in touch recently . . . apologise.

4 Posts and none appeared that's scandalous. What is the point if somebody with your great knowledge of content creation is ignored.

At the very least any post not used should be acknowledged as not to be used. As an retired marketing director I can say that somebody is missing a real trick at Auran as users opinions are gold dust when it comes to product development. You can't buy that sort of feed back.

I'm getting more annoyed by the minute.

Martin

I have had the same problem, suggestions not appearing on this post.
Fair enough but I would like a reply from Auran to do is to let me know why my suggestions were invalid?
Now that would be good PR.

Hi all

Generally we approve threads that we feel are relevant. Some threads, such as the one by Macka, can be answered by searching past threads. That topic was covered back when TS09 was first announced/released. And has been covered VERY well since TC1/2 came out.

Other threads that we don't feel relevant get left, and we go to the next one. In most cases we either cannot understand what the person is saying, or we feel it is something that is just not likely/appropriate.

Sometimes we forget, I know I have. Hence a quick PM to a mod is generally best. In this case, the threads that I approved a few minutes ago fit into here as well.

One thing important to mention here. This thread is technically in breach of the COC (#19). As such, topics such as this are best sent via PM to a mod, or to the helpdesk, from which I will take a quick look, and let you know.

Please continue sending suggestions. These are useful, and give people ideas. Of course, not all will go through, but most of these are ones that we deem to not be useful/appropriate.

Thank You!

Hi
I note that the suggestion I submitted has now appeared in the "Suggestion Boxcar"

I trust that saying "Thank you" doesn't breach your COC #19. ;)

In celebration . . . tomorrow I'm invading Poland.

Just as an FYI;

When we were working on TC3 we went through the suggestions forum and some of the things posted in there did get included in TC3. I can't remember which ones exactly now though.

Mike.
