Subways, Underground, Tram or anything else Urban shots!

The ATLS system by BOAT is probably the best way to control traffic in Trainz. Details are here: http://www.boatztrainz.co.uk/page2.htm , and the assets are on the DLS. There is a basic demo route on the DLS, or you can download my Bridgehampton Metro South mini route, which is basically a glorified ATLS test bed.Paul

Cool! Is this combinable with the AJS traffic system? If so, I will place both on my route!

And I will download your beautiful tram layout as soon as possible! I didn't know that it was already released, what a pity :hehe:

I was hoping to acquire this tram but the link isn't working for me. Access denied 403 error. Can anyone else confirm this?

No, I don't have any problems with that site, strange  Maybe you could try the earlier-posted link, by me. Hope it works :)

Greetings,
Ben

There's no conflict between the two systems, and ATLS is designed primarily to use the AJS roads. I've had variable results with AJS crossings in TR2010 though - don't know if it's my placing or an issue. I'm pretty much using 100% ATLS these days, and I have my own road splines in development.

TUME’s PCC Streetcar and US-City-Project

Dear all,

at the moment I am again working on my US-City-Project. I created some new PCC Streetcars additionally to my first three pieces. Although the route indicator outlines “F Market Castro” (San Francisco), this cars wears a non realistic colour scheme. Just the red one with the grey roof remembers likely to the PCC’s which served at the “Boston Elevated Railway”.
In the opposite to my first screens in this thread some month ago, the PCC’s now has been equipped with realistic bogeys which I created using some original photos available via internet. Also the trolley now works at a separate dummy car in the same way as used by other creators of such pantographs, especially for streetcars.
Except the driver panel, the car interior has also been finished. Now the cars need to be equipped with some scripts for door opening and closure within passenger interchange at the tram stops and so on.

The “US-City” itself is a fictional route about an ordinary city which could be situated somewhere in North America. The most important difference to the real thing probably is the survival of street car operation. Although some lines has been replaced by buses (still to be created as drivable vehicles) the PCC’s still serves the inhabitants and tourists through the streets within a lot of modern trams (usage of really nice DLS trams or objects from other sites). The route as well as the PCC’s has not been finished yet like described, but my aim is to get it done within this year to get back to my “Milwaukee Road Project” after that.

See now some screens from the latest route extension. It’s a additionally branch from downtown northward going beside a river first, so that the line will eventually been called “R Riverside North”.

The green one in this picture reminds me of the Chicago Surface (and Transit) Lines PPC. However theirs was slightly different.

TUME’s PCC Streetcar and US-City-Project - part 3

Hallo,

thank you for your nice commends.

@ mbta: Well the panto now goes with the trolley wire coming along with the DLS track created by “RW1HH” (69084). I will probably create some different panto-dummy-cars to make the usage below different trolley systems possible

@ PerRock: Yes, its different. The Green Hornet used to be longer including a different door and window arrangement. But thanks for the photo link. May I will extend my PCC mesh making it suitable for this nice looking Green Hornets too.

Now enjoy some more screens taken from the latest built “Riverside Line” as a continuation of my previous reply.

Amazing!

Having been raised in San Francisco, I am impressed with the PCC cars! It brings back old memories! :D

Is this for 2009 or 2010? I am thinking of upgrading to 2009 from 2006 soon. Also, where did you get the tracks for the street and for the Riverside terminus? I am looking for quality tracks to use in my Phoenix Light Rail layout.

Fantastic work on the layout--incredibly realistic!

Sorry to trouble you Tume, but would you happen to know the KUIDS of those apartment buildings in the background? They are exactly what I am looking for...

Hallo,

thanks all for your nice words about my work. This will keep my going :-)

@ acelejalde:

Mikey186 aswered your question about the track – thanks mikey186 :-)
The route grows up in the world of TS2010 – you can see this at the Speed Trees. I would recommend to upgrade from TRS2006 to TS2010. Still you can use TRS2006 independently at you PC. TS2010 will ask you to overwrite TRS2006 or to install TS2010 as a parallel system. That’s what I did. Besides the very nice Speed Trees, TS2010 provides a lot more functionality. For example the copy and past function has been improved so you can copy and past also splines now which is very useful.

@ gisa:

The Buildings you are looking fore has been created by dmdrake (33404). Its called

Midwestern-Apartment2-Bldg-1-2D KUID2: 33404:504905:2
Midwestern-Apartment2-Bldg-2-2D KUID2: 33404:504906:2
Midwestern-Apartment2-Bldg-3-2D KUID2: 33404:504907:2
Midwestern-Apartment2-Bldg-4-2D KUID2: 33404:504908:2
Midwestern-Apartment2-Bldg-5-2D KUID2: 33404:504934:2
Midwestern-Apartment2-Bldg-6-2D KUID2: 33404:504909:2

Besides, I should mention, that I used quite a lot of building objects from dmdrake. He created a very nice and realistic looking series of city-buildings. Some of it has been designed just as 2D objects just wearing a 3D looking texture (which is also the case at the Midwestern-Apartment2-Bldgs above). The idea was to create some city-buildings for use as objects in the distance to rail lines or stations, but I use it right beside my street car lines. Because of its nice texture, the objects appears very nicely, even if it has just 2D surfaces. DmDrake created objects which provides a very good compromise between appearance and saving on polygons and texture size to support a smooth simulation performance.
Again, I take this as a cause to say – “Thank You David” :-)

Great route Tume, will this be released free or for a fee?? That's AJS street kit texture isn't it??
Jamie

Thanks Tume! I thought those were David's awesome buildings but had to be sure. :) I'll check now to see if I have them.
