Csezio, that is awesome! How do you get the cars to stop like that? Where do you get the cars, and the lights too? Incredible!;)

I recently found a great video of this trolley bus on youtube. But there is only one problem. I don't know where to get it. If anyone knows where it is please reply. Any help is appreciated.thnx:wave:://www.youtube.com/watch?v=913FQ6sBKiQ&feature=related

I can half help you. That looks like connyxy's stuff as her real name is Conny Lubing. She made some great stuff but disappeared for a while. Maybe she is back, I don't know. I think with her, she releases if and when she wants...

that is conny's layout as far as i recognise from one of her posts quite a bit ago. i do hopse she returns. she's made some excellent stuff, which i am unfortunately, not able to access at the moment. i've always wondered why conny took all of her stuff away from the sites like TRS bingen etc. i would've like to download it all. also some routes use her things, and as they are no longer available. i end up with a load of missing dependencies

Out of the random blues, why does the first thread say its from 1970?
The internet wasn't around then (i don't think) and Trainz most certainly wasn't!

Actually, the net was implemented in the 60's .... But, I think that's a good catch from your end .... 70's thread .... that's going back in time -- you should have seen the NYC system ... Graffiti heaven in those days!!

Its because last year one day there was a problem with the time on the forum servers. Any posts were posted with teh date 1970 as that is the furthest it could go back in time. Whne the time was fixed the auto arrangement freatures spotted that 1970 came before 2008 and placed those posts at the start of the thread

Which is actually right at the back, but let's not get technical, or off topic.
Excellent screens, I'm inspired now!:hehe:

And BTW, the 1970 thread I saw in the TRS2006 thread cannot possibly exist. I mean, TRS2006, let alone any other version, weren't even thought of yet!

TUME’s Street & PCC Car Project

Hallo,

besides my Milwaukee Road Project (http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=39904) I am also working at a Street Car Project, just as I like trams. Also sometimes I need a little break working on just one project.

There is a set of PCC cars under creation as well as a set of street cars from back of the 30’s. Some of the PCCs will be a virtual model of San Francisco's Muni PCCs , the others will be set up as fictional versions.

Last year, I undertake a study for creating San Francisco’s F line by extending the cable car route which is already at DLS provided by NormP. But this would need the creation of a huge number of special buildings and a new track, street, junction and board walk asset to be able to build the many streets at the slopy terrain. Most of the buildings at DLS have been designed for a flat ground and would not fit. Anyway, it would be possible even right now, but with an enormous and inefficient effort of time.
Therefore I decided to go for a fictional large city first, where I can use the DLS objects available right now. About 15 Kilometres of street car lines and the area around it have already been created so far.

See a video of my San Francisco route study at:

Cars are static, I place them only for screen at that moment(I think that create a very realistic traffic is imposible or very hard). Traffic lights are my content. I create it because in TRS i want have polish traffic lights(I create it with polish infrastructure law). At this moment they unavalivalbe to download because Erniesouchak meaby run at it ATLS script(I don't know when) ;) Cars are from DLS(Mercedes SL), probably Tramtrainz(Renault Thalia), and from Sony25 site(http://www.sony25.cal.pl/news.php). And for finish two for me ;)

Wow those MUNI cars look great! One question though on the PCC why are there trolley poles at both ends?

Hallo,

well I created the trolley pole at the front, because the original Muni PCCs have been equipped like this. I guess because they want to have to possibility to operate the cars backward – maybe just necessary while switching at the depot at maintenance yards.

Anyway the model PCCs will get a separate trolley car the way like at the other trolley street cars available at DLS, including a spark lightning effect. The front trolley pole will stay at the PCC’s mesh being a non workable component.

As you can see there are still a lot of details to be created. Some signs outside, adverts inside and the whole driver control panel including acceleration and breaking levers. This will be a challenge to solve the view problem. PCC cars have foot pedals for acceleration and breaking. To control it using the interior driver control option in TS (not DCC mode), the user would always have to turn the view down towards the foot pedals, to operate it with the mouse cursor. After changing the lever position, the user would have to turn the view up again, to look how the car goes on. It is imaginable, that this is not quite comfortable for users who wants to play with these PCCs.
Two possibilities:
First: Creating the pedal levers like the originals and the user will have to turn the view or uses the dedicated keys at the keyboard to control the car.
Second: I create the pedals as non workable dummies just for it to be there, placing two non original, half transparent looking levers somewhere at the control penal, where it can be controlled by using the mouse cursor, without changing the view.

Now to all – you are welcome, to tell me your opinion about this, or to make further suggestions. :)

Original Muni PCC 1052. The colour scheme represents the “Yellow Cars” of LA’s street car system - completely abandoned and ripped out long ago.

Hi Tume.
I look forward to running them on my SF Route, when they become available, the're shaping up to be very realistic.
BTW I'm interested in the extensions you have made to the SF route, how far did you extend Market St ?

Norm.

Hallo,

at first, led me make a great compliment for your Frisco route. In fact the appearance of your route pushed me to start the PCC project.

What I did at your route. I just implanted your route back into the terrain only route from Paul Haglund (fishlipatwork) to get the boards available again, which had been deleted. Than I replaced some buildings at market street and laid the tram track all the way to the terminus of the F Line at Castro Street.

Have you seen my video about the Beta PCCs running at that route?

may you just have a look at my original threat, including a link to the video:

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=5999&page=17

You have managed building a lot of streets and its buildings at the sloppy ground. Do you agree to my words about special assets would be required to get a large area created in an efficient way?
At some places it was probably hard for you to prevent misalignment of ground surface and the street, road and track splines. To get all this objects together in a nice looking way without any misalignment needs much much time – far too much, to get a perfect result in a proper time. I am sure you have made this experiences also.
During the last years, it was quite impossible to create such a big town because of Hardware power limits as well as the behaviour of TRS2006 about handling of too many heavy textures at big routes. I had to deal with this problem creating my Milwaukee Road Avery Drexel route, which is now going to be included into the new TS2010.
But with the new LOD possibilities at TS2009 and TS2010 as well as increased hardware power, it may will become possible to go again for a Frisco street car and cable car project. But in my point of view this would have to go hand in hand with creation of new special content to take the advantage of LOD and season change functions.

For the moment, I will go on, to create my fictional route of a big city, just to provide a “playground” for the PCCs and Street Cars. But one day, I would like the challenge to continue the San Francisco project – may in collaboration with someone.

:)
