Just some pics from my test route, inspired by 3rd avenue elevated steam RR in NYC. Route is a much WIP.
___

Double meet at Theatre signal tower, cab forward train is going out of city`s Core, boiler forward are going to Core.

Same from different point of view.

One of large change stations, 2 lines intersects here. Line 2 is diagonal. Train on curved platform will become Express after that station.

Double meet on the Charlie boulevard, one-leg supports are kitbash of custom mesh and austinhockey316`s subkit column.

LOL the irony is strong, because one of my projects has an area which is based off of the 3rd Ave El (specifically the trackage over the Bowery). And ironically, is named "Capitol Elevated Railway Co." much like yours is Capital City Transit. I had started on a series of elevated railway structure items based on the single-track elevated structures that ran over the Bowery. Unfortunately that has had to be shelved for now but hopefully I'll be back with that eventually.

As the saying goes, "Great minds think alike".

EDIT: Ivan, do you mind me asking where you found the assets for the platforms? They look like the traditional elevated catwalk, but I couldn't find any catwalk pieces in Austin613Hockey's subway-elevated kit.

Thanks all for comments :)
@Isaacg: for platforms i`m using "SubKit EL Catwalk", <kuid:316:37068>.
@Stopp1: yes, as TrainzFreak101 said, i`m using BDC Projects stuff, however, i took some assets from it and modified them for my purposes.

Thanks Ivan! Are they on the DLS? I'm able to pull up all of the SubKit El objects, but I don't see any catwalk assets. :\

Ivan appears to be using both BDC and Austin's content for the elevated railways. The impression I got was that it was in fact *not* BDC's but Austin's. I don't know his policy on that kind of thing though. I *had* a membership as BDC Projects, I tried logging in recently but I lost the password and the replacement/retrieval apparatus doesn't work I submit my email but I never get it. I haven't gotten around to making inquiries over there. I was never terribly active over there though to begin with.

If it comes right down to it I can make my own elevated railway platforms. There are some really nice wooden platforms made by an author (Russian I think?) which fit the bill unfortunately they aren't conducive for island platforms (they have railings). So the next best thing is to make my own.

Austin's content is from BDC as well. The best thing to do is to register with BDC again. We at BDC had to delete ghost users, and yours may have been one, Isaac. No discrimination, just how it's done at BDC.

I did not know that - good to know. I thought that may have been the case - I had been inactive from the Trainz community for the most part for the past 6 months-year so it doesn't surprise me. However it does seem like my account is still active;

Maybe the admins over there can figure out what the issue is. I have acelejalde (greeneggsnpelham), the head of BDC Projects, on my AIM list but he hasn't been online for ages.

To keep the screenshots going in the thread, here's one to wet your appetite;

Circa 1942, a four-car interurban trainset scuttles over the Gotham & Eastern Elevated Railway mainline and is seen here snaking into Selkirk (Avenue) Station. In 1939, just after the consolidation of the major transit companies, it was decided by municipal powers to modernize the interurban fleet with the purchase of 92 new four-car trainsets. They are dubbed the 3400 series, and are set to replace the old 1100 and 1700 series wooden interurban cars which have been in service since 1912. The new cars were joint-manufactured by the St. Louis Car Company (3401-3448), the Pullman Car Company(3450-3486), and the General Electric Company's urban transit division (3490-3498). Differences between the various cars are superficial for the most part, although a previous (and failed) bid by Budd had the cars designed with side fluting. They are dual-mode electrics, able to operate on both 1500kv AC overhead wires and 750v DC third rail.These cars are based off of PCC technology from the 1930s and can run on both traditional elevated rapid transit tracks and in their own, separate right-of-way.

Most of the GE interurbans utilize the traditional elevated rapid transit tracks at the moment, but plans are under way to build a new separate line closer to the lake shore. That line will be in its own dedicated right of way, at ground level and electrified by overhead wires rather than third rail traction.

Isaac,

PM me. I'm on Facebook now and no longer using AIM to communicate. Had to advance with the times, lol.

Oh and here's some BART for all of ya!
