@Trainzfreak101:
If it`s from BDC projects then, why a user can`t find needed item?

Austin316Hockey made the catwalks after a developer meeting we had in which we both noticed they were missing from the package on the DLS. He released them separately, but did not add them to his DLS downloads. As for why a user couldn't find them--there have been some overhauls at the website, so some things may be lost, but Trainz101 is right---under no circumstances without written permission from admins are you to transfer any CDPs of any content hosted on BDC Projects. This is to protect the items by the authors who may not want unauthorized reskins/mods to their items, and to maintain the integrity of our site, and prevent foamers/gimmie pigs from just getting things from CDPs without any contribution. In other news, excellent work on your route by the way! I love the steam-on-ELs idea! :D

Just a test export, by no means ready for any beta testing. It still needs the center window and the doors need windows too. A CTA 6000 series turns the bend at Selkirk Station with an express (inside tracks).

They were indeed :)

Here is a better-res screenshot of the 6000 series pausing with an outbound express at what will be Selkirk Station (for those who are interested in knowing, it's based off of Sheridan Station in Chicago)

Thanks @acelejade for positive feedback on my route and idea :)

To other news:

Capital City Transit is a union, that owns 3 rail-related companies in the city: Capital City Street Service (horsedrwan trams), Capital City Goods Railroad and a Capital City Elevated Railroad, which testing conversion of steam-powered coaches to electric-powered elevated gate cars

They are still need a lights package, some underbody equipment and trailer cars.

Very nice, Ivan. Are those the VR Standard Gauge 'American' cars by S301? I use those and the old UP cars. Just hook an invisible locomotive to the front and it works like a charm. Eventually I may get around to making gate cars (Chicago or NYC I don't know yet)

While I'm letting the 6000 series 'set' for a while, I started on another rapid transit car...

Here's a hint...

OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Breda A650!!! LA Metro Red line! I have LOTS of pics of it! If you like I can PM you the pics. I ALWAYS love to take this all the time (this was even my FIRST ever train ride, is THIS!!!)

Wow, I'm happy to see another fan working towards bringing Los Angeles's Metro Rail into the Sim world. I'm creating an A650 as well as the Metro Blue, Green and Expo Line Nippon Sharyo P865/2020 cars as well. May I ask, how did you go about making the front end face of the car with such accuracy? I'm working in Sketchup to model it and going to finish it off in 3dsMax but the Metro Red and Purple Line cars have always proved challenging.

Thanks thech3mist, honestly I'm just working from photographs for the most part.

If your interested, I'm going to potentially create a site for Light Rail and Heavy rail transit for Trainz and Train Simulator, there is not enough Rapid Transit content outside of New York's system for the Sim world.

Well at the moment I'm focusing on working on these models themselves. I've fixed the polys on the 6k series this afternoon. I haven't even started holding beta tests (if I do opt for that), but I'm open to any outlets. I will most likely be hosting my content on the DLS in the end more than likely, if I don't start my own website (thanks in no due part to Adobe Muse).

As I said before, I refined the 6k series mesh and now I have preliminary textures in GCO (Green, Cream, and Orange), GW (Green and White), and RWB (Red, White, and Blue). There's still some issues with the mesh up in the top left hand corner of the car where the marker light is. CTA had at least two (?) variations of these cars, these are the rebuilds with the two major headlamps underneath the windows and the destination blinds above the front vestibule doorway. They were originally delivered with a single headlamp over the front vestibule doorway and the destination blinds were displayed in the front left hand window.

I would be glad to beta test the trains you make. I'm not sure if the DLS can take up hi-polys when a high number of MBs is a good one. I can have your content hosted on my site if you like. Indeed some great screenshots though.

Mikey186, thanks for the offer. If I do opt for beta testing I definitely have you on the list of potential testers.

In other news, Public Service Announcement:

I like and appreciate all of the enthusiasm here. I know that there has been a lack of content creators and content creation for this sector of the Trainz community and I'm glad to show off my newly-budding skills in relatively high-detail models for Trainz that focus on passenger transport, both urban and long distance, over numerous time periods. I'm not doing this however to fill in voids or gaps in the larger Trainz content pool, I'm filling in voids and gaps in my *own* personal content pool. Things that I seek out but cannot find, I work to bring to life in Trainz. These items may be on others' lists. Some people may not be seeking out these items. I do this for me, so while I don't threaten people with not releasing or completing an item and releasing it - I don't feel obligated to release or share. That doesn't mean I won't have it considered for sure. I'm thinking I should make something clear because there have been a few assumptions going on here.

1.) Beta Testing - I am not currently planning or scheduling any beta tests, and this applies for the foreseeable future. If I do opt for beta testing instead of a direct release, I will have a list of potential testers and a shortlist for those who are 'priority' testers. I don't want beta testers that are merely content collectors, angling their way to content that is in the process of being released (often times content never moves beyond beta stage).

2.) Hosting - I am not really interested in hosting my content on anyone's website, if I do release it will be through my own medium. I prefer to do it this way because I will likely be having quite a few releases and I want my own stage for my own talents. I have software which I can apply additional non-Trainz related talents and I hope to combine my web design (Muse) and Trainz talents into one venture. That is still a good 6 months off from now though.

3.) Releases - I am not planning or scheduling any releases at all at this moment. This is because these items are barely even ready for export into Trainz. They still require added details (which I am slowly inching towards). Any releases that will be happening can be found in the respective announcements subforum.

4.) Payware - I am considering the idea that these items may *potentially* be released as payware (pending research on releasing payware items). I am also opening to releasing a lower detailed version of any payware items a la Magicland. I am unemployed at the moment and my school is wrapping up so 3d modelling may be a decent, but small income outlet.

I have a whole slew of 'projects' I haven't revealed on here but I do like sharing what I do both on this thread and the 3DS Max renders thread. But for now, I am at best half way complete with my most completed projects. So this means it's a little to early to start talking about beta testing, releases, etc. I want my first releases to be of really good quality - and memorable!
