subway station and tunnels

Hello

When I place a subway station on board then connect subway tunnel why does the platform become blocked by the tunnel wall. Even when I place a one sided tunnel the same happens. Have read tutorial about track first then tunnel but I am still lost with this . Some help in the right direction please anyone. Cheers Tapie

1. place a track on 1 side
2. place the tunnel track on the other side
3. delete track and put tunnel on the other side
