'Submit Edits' or 'Revert To Original'?

Hello everyone,

On occasion when installing content via CDP some assets are left open for edit. This occurs to all assets including both Built-in and Payware. What should I do in this situation? Should I click 'Revert To Original' or 'Submit Edits'?

I usually "Revert to Original", because I can do all or most of them at once. If you "Submit Edits", even though you haven't done any, it has to think about it and can take a longer time.

Always revert to original or you will be overwriting builtins which may not be a good idea and can break things.

This is how I've been doing it, but I wasn't sure if this was 'correct' or not. Thank you guys for clarifying.

While I'm thinking about it didn't previous iterations of Trainz have an option to skip assets that were already installed? Maybe I am remembering incorrectly? The last time I played a Trainz title was close to 10 years ago.

I sometimes accidentally delete one of my assets and have to restore it from my CDP backups. Because I have multiple near identical versions of that same asset all in the same CDP file (to make management easier), importing the entire CDP file will reinstall the deleted asset (as intended) and also overwrite those assets that I have not deleted (not intended). Those "overwritten" assets will be shown as "Open for edit". I select them all and, from the popup menu, select "Revert to original". This does not change the assets already installed.
