Strange looking trees

I have been a long time coming to terms with TRS2019 and finally have started to enjoy Trainz again - having said that I am wondering if there is a setting to improve the look of "trees".
I find some trees look like "cardboard cutouts" and some are not so bad.
I have an Nvidia GTX1060 3GB video card and am not sure if any settings may inprove the tree problem.
Help will as always be appreciated.

Hi Ron. There are two issues. Some trees do in fact, look like cardboard cutouts, and I see them in screenshots posted here quite often. They look like something you would cut two out of cardboard and then notch them in the middle and assemble them at right angles. The only way to fix that is to do a bulk asset replace in surveyor with a tree you like. The other issue I have noticed with 2019 sometimes is the LOD, where some trees look really great up close, but the ones up the hill start looking like gray-green shadows. Again, it may only be an option to do a bulk replace with a tree that works better for 2019, or don't look up the hill too far. Others just look like ghosts, I am not sure what the theory is behind them. HTH.

Are you seeing anything like that shown in hminky's post of Nov 12, 2019 on page 15 of the BC&SJ building a mountain railroad thread

Hi - Thanks for the comments. Mostly "cardboard cutouts" haven't noticed the ghosting effect. Will experiment some more !!

Hi Ron --

Have you tried Speedtrees? I find them much more realistic and with minimal frame rate hit. Some also come with seasonal textures, for example autumn reds and golds, and bare branches. Winter is at 6:40 --
