Forgive me for having dirty diesels in the last shot, I have let you all down...

Steam disappeared because of it's complex maintenance of moving parts ... diesels had way more less moving parts and needed less maintenance, and did not explode like high pressure, live steam, locomotives

Ah, c'mon, we all know that the death of steam came about when the firemen got lazy, and wanted to sit back and relax in the air-conditioned diesel cabs instead of shoveling filthy coal into a hot firebox all day... ;)

Nice shots, by the way!

From the East Norfolk Railway we see the Western Flyer powering up the hill after Trenton

We then see it coming down the other side near Bullstock

Logybear, it really isn't necessary to post the same screenshot in 4 different threads.

I was thinking the same thing.

Anyway, Is the E in E-pacifc supposed to stand for "eastern pacific?"

You know, there is Southern Pacific, Western Pacific, Northern Pacific, Central Pacific... What the heck happened to Eastern Pacific?

Thanks Flyboy, I always liked the British Railways use of them for their diesel shunters and decided to put them on the mikado. You can also see (just barely) but the pilot steps are striped too. I figured that short line engines or yard switchers would be painted with bright yellow stripes for visabilty.
