that is a nice big boy, detailed is the word to describe this model of a real life giant of the rails.

The Big Boy is waaaay too black. It looks good so far, but the textures really need to be brought to more grey of a color.
Well good news for you. If you checked my shots of the big boy you would notice the update in textures that it's not so much black on it as before. Hope this answers your question

Indeed it is, thanks in part to the newly redesigned material setup created for more complete texture control. (not to mention the newly re-exported tender, which has the original coal tender and what I assume is a proto-lance oil tank for fans of 4014, as well as remapping) It is definitely an ongoing project, mostly at this point just attempting to figure out why the locomotive headlight script won't work. But the textures are nowhere near as crisp as on that old WIP.

And no, it is not an Erecting Hall project, but rather a SketchUp project completed by a rather talented creator under the username Stormsirens2. I first exported this for him a little over a year ago as I recall, and it is a monumental project. I myself am not a fan of the Big Boys - they seem a bit too large and silly, and I have little doubt that a simpler design would have been more ideal. However, the quality of the model cannot be denied, and he knows what he's doing. Each time I've had to do some work for him, he has clear, concise instructions that can often take over a week to complete with a project this massive. However, he also maintains professional relations and makes the entire project as easy to work with as possible. The model is quite high-poly, but then, it's a detailed big boy. That is all; I'm sure the creator himself will announce the project in its entirety when it is complete.

Thank you and great screens everyone.
Some more screens, a generic winter scene this time.
I consider them quite good but in many ways they are a failure: I would have liked to do them with the train on the move but smoke effects were disappointing and I would have prefered a Milwaukee Road streamliner but the F7 Hudsons are no longer available.
Cheers,
Filippo

You mean this?

There's two available. Just search up 4-6-4 on the DLS.

Quite old, though. The MILW Streamlined steam needs a serious retouching, plus the addition of the other streamliners (like the 4-4-2s). Might end up on the projects list for me some day...

Cheers,

Simply spectacular Matt. I can't wait I can get my rig up and running again so I can post some of the L&A in TANE.

Matt, for no reason would any train require that many low power steam locomotives. That's just absolutely absurd.

Sanity is nice.
