Steam Locomotives and Little Children

It's a common fact that little kids LOVE steam locomotives. But has anyone thought why? Well they both take hours to get ready in the morning, they consume TONS of fuel/food and liquids, they produce unbelievable amounts of waste, they will give you heck and will go nowhere if something breaks or goes wrong, they are REALLY loud, they need frequent stops, they get out of control if you don't watch them, and you need to go through an entire process before you put them asleep.

Maybe they are just unique. I was ADDICTED to Thomas when I was a wee lad.I wasn't't like that though.

I also was addicted to Thomas. And I am still, to some degree, at the ripe old age of almost 16, a Thomas the Tank Engine fan. I wasn't like that either (at least, not that much). I was kinda pointing the finger at your stereotypical kindergartener. (BTW, it was meant as a joke. I was hoping people would catch on. :hehe:)

Yeah, every future railfan loves Thomas. I wanted every wooden train that was made and I still have them. Now I'm into what the big kids love, Lionel, Bachmann, and Kato.
