Have a look at http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=34165 Paul also has tutorials for installing GMAX and building a simple loco.

My personal view is Blender is easier.

For a physical printed book on gmax, try gmax Bible, written by Kelly Murdock, but it's expensive.

I must disagree that gMax Bible is expensive. I got a "as new" copy from Amazon for less than ten bucks, and it's a big thick book crammed with good stuff.

John259, why should you be sorry. Just because Mike Berg picked it up a cheap second-hand copy, it doesn't mean everyone else can. If I were to purchase it second-hand from Amazon then post it To Australia the cost would be AU $50 plus, and that ain't cheap for a second-hand book! I thought he was being quite rude attacking you that way. You are correct - the book is expensive and that's all there is to it.
