Starting a Russian diesel loco

Any suggestions on how you move a Russian diesel loco in realistic (Cab) mode? It runs without any problem in DCC mode.

I have released all possible breaks and adjusted controls as per Wiki guidelines but the loco just sits, emitting smoke but not moving? I have a similar issue with a diesel German suburban consist.

Have you put it into 'Forward' or 'Reverse'?

Examine what handles and switches move in DCC, then try to replicate the same motions in CAB.

What loco is it and where can it be obtained ?

Some of them are utterly fantastic !

Downloaded from the Download Station ... am running them in TANE and when I order the loco to move (ctrl + right click) it does so but the CAB mode disappears so cannot really tell the settings.

I have taken a screenshot of both engines ... now can you tell me where do I find screenshots in TANE? Then will post it here.

Check on YouTube. There is a video somewhere by one of the content creators on how to start these beasts. I can't remember who made it though, but there are a gazillion switches and knobs that need adjusting first before the thing makes and kind of noise.

Some can be set up in the Session Layer to bypass all the start up rigmarole. But then, even in the Session setup, it can be a matter of trail and error to discover what buttons do what.

ISTR starting the Russian diesels, there are various switches and circuit breakers which must be set in a particular sequence. As John says, there was at one point a YT video clip floating around, for those who can't read Cyrillic! If you're in TS12 the built in Russian locos were somewhat dumbed down and don't require the start procedure (but also lost their fuel consumption and train brake facility in the case of the M62) but are still a cut above much of what else is in the sim, along with the Chinese offerings.
