Wooden-Nickel-Mine..jpg

End of the line and home to the Wooden Nickel Mine. Here the SJC train will drop it's empties, turn on the wye and couple up to the next loaded string awaiting the 11 mile trip back to Montrose

Headlines%3A-The-SJC-opens-passenger-service.jpg

Headlines: SJC OPENS PASSENGER SERVICE.
After lengthy negotiations with CLL, the SJC was able to purchase the Clear Lake Logging railcar to open passenger service between Montrose and Tincup.
An unverifiable source claims the railroad acquired the aging locomotive for the sum of 4 chickens, a sack of potatos, a wheel barrel and an expired lottery ticket.

@rick1958 - Layout is looking good (y)

Just am FYI for you. I'm slowly uploading Hangman Creek kuids to the DLS.
Bunch of new stuff you can use on the San Juan Central and elsewhere... ☺️

If nothing weird happens HCL will be up in a few weeks, maybe sooner.

Hey ... Thanks and Thanks for the heads up. I'll be sure to check 'em out.
Today I grabbed one of your best, most complicated, assets. Your black tunnel shadow..LOL. Joke. I have a tunnel going through a model room wall and comes out the other side. Well, there's nothing quite like a blue wall in the center of the tunnel! Black tunnel shadow to the rescue. Drop it in the front the blue wall...problem solved!

McClanahan-Mine.-A-dear-friend-of-mine%2C-%40Shortline2-surveyed-the-railroad-leading-to-a-mine-on-my-expanded-version-of-the-San-Juan-Central..jpg

A good friend of mine, @Shortline2 ,surveyed the 30 inch railroad up the mountain to the McClanahan Mine on the new, expanded, San Juan Central.
Nice Rick.

I almost wanted to play more with that one after this image, but, alas, I am on my way out for a weekly appointment so that urge will be gone soon. ;-)

Lovely use of the trackwork from my old "Golden Island"

LOL...Yeah... Your "Island" slid up the mountain to about an altitude of 127... LOL Glad you stopped in Linda!

Herald.jpg

SJC.jpg

Meanwhile, back in Montrose, The morning mail brought a directive from the head office which read in part... "Effective immediately, all tenders and caboose's shall be lettered with the heritage herald of the original San Juan Central, while all rolling stock shall be lettered simply SJC. Future passenger car lettering is still being considered"... End Quote.
So the shop crews worked through the night to produce a sample of each for management's approval.

Looking north from the Montrose freight platform, an unknown photographer captured the mood on this lazy Saturday morning. There are no trains running today. The station platform has become the towns Social Center where the town folks gather to exchange greetings, gossip and perhaps even grab a quick game of checkers in the shade before being missed by their wives.

Great stuff!! You sure like your detail assets. If I had to guess, I'd bet you like making content more then route building?
Myself?...I spend VERY little time actually "running" trains. My thing is working on routes...usually breaking other peoples stuff...LOL
Years ago I was making content for myself in Gmax, but been away so long, I'd have to learn all over again.

The Hangman rolling stock and power are up on the DLS as well.
Maybe you'd enjoy running them on your route?

The layout is pretty much finished. I'm going over it section by section making sure I didn't miss any details, fixing little things here and there.
Should be up on the DLS soon. The session is actually what's taking a while to properly setup. I added alot of new track at the wharf yard, and getting the A.I. to behave properly when receiving commands in that area and other spots is making me pull my hair out, LOL.

There are short wood gondolas with coal and ballast loads, the togog reefer I reskinned to an Oregon Fruit Co. livery, 3 shays and the big Uintah 51 reskinned as well.
The Trainboi1 MOW set as well.

The <kuid:521966:104469> RC Hangman Creek Lumber Co. Flatcar has a custom loads set, which turn them into a saw filer car, scrap gondola and a half gondola with an electric crane and scrap load.

McClanahan-Mine...Continued.jpg

Work Continues on the McClanahan Mine site. A spur was laid to connect the SJC narrow gauge to the even narrower, 30" gauge, McClanahan mining railroad. The precious ore will be loaded here from the freshly built ore bins, and taken by rail to Montrose where it will be transferred once again onto standard gauge rails and taken for processing.

REALLY!! nice stuff you got there Rico! Love your donkey engine. With that detail, seems it would have to be high in polys? Any why it could be made into a carload?

@rick1958 >>. Which kuid? Is it the small one? I'll see how it fits on a flat.
Yes, all the donkeys have high poly counts.
