Splines Fixed Heights in Surveyor (TANE SP1)??

Hi All,

On a current route I'm working on in TANE, I've noticed the heights of all splines I place are laying down as fixed heights. This didn't use to happen, and I know it's not the assets as I've used them before without issue. Why might these assets be laying down at fixed heights? I've gone into the settings and the TRACK fixed vertex height box is not checked (says track, so don't think it'd apply to splines...). More importantly, how can I get TANE to stop doing this?! It's impossible to get splines to follow rolling hills like this (without hundreds of unnecessary spline points). Thanks for any tips/pointers!

(Open Game) Main Menu>Settings...>interface settings. See if "Fixed Track Vertex Height" is ticked. If ticked UN tick it.

I do believe:

Ticked= same height
Unticked= should auto lay to terrain height

I have checked this, and this box is unchecked, so I am unsure why this has started happening all of the sudden. I'm guessing it's some weird quirk in the game - an unexpected error. Hoping an N3V person will stumble upon this and let me know if it's something they saw in the testing and known/possible solutions. Thanks for replying though!

rrfoose, I have seen something similar. While laying track and splines on a new route. If I have looked at the "get gradient" in track and there is anything in that box other than a "0" the splines I add seem to use the gradient value from the track gradient box. Try setting it to zero and see if this clears your problem.

Clarkson03 is right. Set the value to zero and the problem goes away.

I can't remember if I submitted this as a bug or not. Please do so via the help desk.

Well I'll be - that was it! How silly is that! Thanks for the tips though - I'll have to go add that help ticket!
