Speedtrees not appearing

3Ds MAX will be my demise
G'day!

So I've just installed TS12 on my new desktop. I transferred everything over from my current Trainz and imported it into the new Trainz and I find that none of the speedtrees show in the map. When I select a speedtree in the Objects Menu in Surveyor, the tree does not show. When I place the object onto the baseboard, it doesn't show. But when I go to the mini-map, the object is there, because a small green square displays the object.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Cheers!

Jake.

Builtin SpeedTrees or added ones or all of them?
TS12 forum might have got your post noticed a bit quicker, new one on me I'm afraid unless its related to not installing and running as administrator on Vista upwards.
TS12 fully patched up to the same level as before?
Did you transfer both the Local AND original folders? as you need both folders for your added content.
May just need an EDR running which is normal after importing a lot of stuff.

Are they not there when you first open the route, or does this happen after pasting a lot of content?

If this happens later on, save your route, and exit Surveyor. Go back in once you're back at the menu and look again.

If it's the former problem, you might have something missing and need to reinstall the program.

I'm beginning to wonder if the issue is relating to (a possible lack of) TNISpeedTree.dll.

Shane

Interesting. I'm not a software guy so I would have just reinstalled the program. It's a lot easier that way rather than trying to figure out what's missing. :)

Reason I'm thinking of that is as a result of one of captainkman's videos. Unfortunately, if the file is missing (usually found in <trainz install folder>/Bin/plugins) the game will need to be reinstalled.

I'm thinking similar however due to the Trainz maybe being at different patch levels, TNISpeedTree.dll or it's related files may well be patched as possibly may be the builtin speed trees.

G'day!

Alright. Thanks for the replies guys.

@clam1952 The speedtrees are the built-in ones, Pofig's, JVC's and the Ultratreez. Whom I can't remember the author of. TS12 is patched to latest Version. I didn't copy over original since it took too damn long and I don't have an EDR running.

@JCitron The trees are not there when I open the route, nor when I open it again after closing Trainz.

@shaneturner12 TNISpeedTree.dll is in TS12>Bin>Plugins.

Cheers!

Jake.

I'm afraid something is trashed. I suggest reinstalling the program after backing up your User Data folder. Copy or move the User Data folder to another hard drive or desktop before reinstalling.
