speed question

Hi, i have a question, how can i overrule the speed limit ? so that the train(s) goes as fast as possible? or is that not possible. ??

When a speedboard is slowing you down, after the first loco passes it takes effect
When a speedboard is allowing you to speed up, after the last car passes it takes effect

Some speedboards allow 1000kph (620mph) or higher.

Hi, ;), maybe a stupid question?, But how can i search for remaining speed limits on a track and remove them? in surveyor mode..

You can see them on the mini map in Surveyor, but only if they were named when laid.

The only alternative I know of is to scan the route and examine every part of the track. The walk and fly options are useful for this.

ok, thanks, strange thing is, if i add a speed limit board, then it works ;), but soon after that it goes to 65 kph ? or slower the route we talking about is: Norfolk and Western - appalachian coal

65kph is the "default" speed limit, that a train will show before it passes a (the first) speed board. Once it has passed one, it will remain with the new speed limit until it passes another, at which point it will adopt the new speed limit (which may be the same as the previous one). If you've set a lower speed limit, and later it jumps up to 65kph, I'd look for a 65kph speed board somewhere on that track - perhaps invisible in driver.

Doin' the trick by using the invisible speedboard may be the answer.

1) take short strip of invisible track and set your desired speed boar on it, then place the inv. track on the actual track, but be sure they don't connect each other.
So you have now a track with dummy speed limit.

2) Place the invisible speed board on the (actual track), and define the speed limit you like.

Voila, You have a track with an apparent speed limit on it, but theres a hidden real speed limit behind it.

You can also just edit the session in surveyor , raise the limit to a higher figure for example 40 MPH allowed over the set max speed.

ok, how do i do that? ;). i found the problem ;), i added a unlimited speed limit, and drive the train, to the point from where the speed limit lowers, and violla ;), it was just a speedboard at the side of the track saying 55 MPH :p oops... lol

edit: new problem, strange one, i was deleting all speedboards , searching track by track lol, i wanted to delete another speedboard:P, but it won`t let me???, if i click delete and then click on the object, it stays there, if i click on get object, and click on the speedboard, it won`t higlight in de list??, i added another speedboard to check i i can delete that one....nope can`t delete the one i just created? i exit the game and try again.. still won`t work?, any ideas?

You may have put that speedboard on a different layer.

Select a route , select a session in that route, select edit session and you will see all the set rules in scroll form. One of them is the speed rule ( ATP speed rule I think- in TS12 )which normally rules that the train will automatically slow down if you travel 10 MPH over the max limit . Select that rule and click edit. Raise the 10 MPH limit to whatever limit you require. There are some interesting rules in there in general like vehicle physics to play with, ( sanding, wheelslip, coupler breakage values etc ) - but there is a warning that the results can't be guaranteed and may not be realistic if you doodle with the rules , another one is the PTP signal speed rule (TS10 )

ok thanks, i still can`t delete the speedboards????, if i add one i can`t delete them either..this is strange..??
