that is why I referred to the streamlined ones as GS-2 through GS-6, also the GS-1 received no skyline casing to my knowledge either, they were left as is

Yes and the Cotton Belt 4-8-4s were identical to the GS-1. Towards the end of steam the SP leased 9 SSW 4-8-4s and designated them the GS-8 class. Fun fact. The GS-1 had a tendency to derail at odd times at first until it was discovered the trailing trucks had been mounted backwards.

Actually the Cotton Belt 4-8-4s weren't all that alike to the GS-1s of the SP. It was pretty noticeable when it was a Cotton Belt. And actually the Cotton Belt 4-8-4s were part of SP and were given a class of GS-8 when they were put on the Peninsula Commute because the SSW had dieselized before the SP did. But SSW was a lot smaller than SP so that had something to do with it.

My apologies you are correct. I as looking at a chart and my eyes must have wandered. T&NO got 4 GS-1 class number started at 700. The SSW 4-8-4s, besides cosmetic differences, had smaller drivers and smaller valve diameter, and a slightly smaller grate area.
