Greetings to all, I am a VERY new to TRAINZ 2010. The link I pasted above is a GOOGLE EARTH patch??? that I found. It has almost all of the HISTORIC(abandoned) and CURRENT railway lines in Southern Ontario. I have lived within this area my entire life. For a long time I wanted to make an HO model of the area between WEST TORONTO to LONDON to OWEN SOUND. But the financial commitment, the space needed and the IMMENSE amount of time that it would take is to say the least overwhelming. Then I found TRAINZ 2010, which makes me think I could create my model DIGITALLY at least. But there is so much terminology to learn and processes to become familiar with that this almost becomes overwhelming too. Could any of the more experienced route builders offer some advice, maybe a FLOW CHART of where to start and what steps are needed. Maybe add the patch to your GOOGLE EARTH and see if it is a viable asset with the TRAINZ software. Is the area and detail going to be just to big to RUN in TRAINZ? Any and all input is very appreciated, unfortunately I was born in the WRONG era and missed seeing this RAILWAY system at its peak in real life, I was at least fortunate enough to see a fair amount of RAIL activity between Owen Sound and TORONTO in my youth but unfortunately that RAILWAY came to its demise in the early 90's too.
So to the TRAINZ experts out there, what do you think. I would even go as far as to pay someone to create this system for me unless it will cost an ARM and a LEG, then I would take the challenge on myself.

Thank you in advance,
MIKEmachine
