Somewhere in the Netherlands

I thought that you might like to see what I'm working on these days. This is my first attempt to use a DEM map to make a route. Yes, it is a route in the Netherlands. We don't have mountains but is is not completely flat either.

Most of the tracks and the platforms have been placed as well as signals and switches. AI trains, often more than 12 at the same time, can navigate the route. The elevation of the track between the stations still needs some work. Texturing, trees and other items are only added once the track is finished.

Very nice, Martin!

That DEM-technique seems to be pretty complicated, I'm glad that you give it a try.

Is it going to be an existing part of the Netherlands? And if so: which one?

Thanks, and good luck,
Ben

even though I'm Aussie ( :Y: ) I am quite intrested in this (probably due to my Dutch background or because I just came back from a holiday there)

Keep up the good work! :Y::D

Meant to answer earlier but there was an issue with my hosting service upgrading their servers.

So here it is:

A stitched track with an extended ballast to fill minor irregularities in the surface.

Here you can see the fill effect.

No release date, it's still in beta since I'm not 100% satisfied with the edge of the ballast.
