Some Nooby questions

I recently bought Trainz Simulator 2009 in the bargain bucket at our local supermarket and have been having some fun in Surveyor mode.

I've got a couple of questions - I've tried googling for answers and scanning through some of the tutorials and manuals without much success - sorry if they are FAQs

Ok - so I've layed out a fairly complex multi-line turnout using standard track - It contains several track sections joined at vertices and a number of points (junctions / switches / whatever). I want to re-use this turnout on the same baseboard. Is there any way I can group and copy and paste this bit of track layout within a baseboard? Can I put it into a library somehow?

I have developed several different baseboards with different areas (terminus station, through station, motive power depot, transpennine route etc etc) and I want to join them all together into one big route. Now I know that surveyor supports this operation, but I also need to rotate some of the baseboards to get the routing to work. Is there any way of dong this?

Cheers

Firstly, please register your serial number. You can do this by clicking Serial Number above and filling in the form. This will enable you to use the Download Station, and to install patches.

Secondly, the copy and paste function in TS2009 (in my opinion) can cause crashes if it's a large section, and as far as I know, there is not an option to save it as a library, although if you create the desired layout first on a single baseboard map, you can save this to re-use elsewhere.

As for the rotating, as far as I know it is not possible to rotate whilst merging routes, although I did read something about the [ and ] keys being used for some form of rotation.

Rotation with those keys applies only to selected areas on a board - these can be rotated 90 degrees at a time (only) and pasted elsewhere.

It is not possible to rotate a complete board - unfortunately.

I thought it was something to do with rotation - just not board rotation.

I think a user would have to build the routes they wish to merge (if it's their own routes) so that rotation would not even be needed.

A topic for the Suggestion Boxcar perhaps?
