Some newbie questions about obsolete dependencies

I end up with a bunch of obsolete dependencies. Some are open for edit, some are modified and some are payware. Can I delete these safely? Yes.
If you install several models of the same engine or car and they all use the same dependencies, are the dependencies shared or are there separate copies for each engine or car?

Not quite sure what this means. If they are obsolete assets then they can be deleted. whether or not they are dependencies of some other asset doesn't matter - the system will always find and use the latest version.

Should I submit the ones open for edit before deleting them?
Yes. Other wise there is a risk of leaving behind asset folders for assets that no longer exist.

You only need to maintain one version of any asset. Whether or not that asset is a dependency doesn't change that.

Thanks oknotsen, that fixed a few other things I had going on. Had a faulty dependency for the built in ATSF SD45, the one used in the tutorials and all the Kick Starter sessions. I reverted that back to original and all is well again. Jeez there is a lot of stuff under the hood in this sim!
