Snow High Valley Distr Ctr (High Resolution 950x532) Approx

Nice and varied map. The beginnings did not have as good effect as in the last post. I like the Alps in winter. I keep my fingers crossed for the final effect!

 Greetings and thank you for visiting,

This is a first for me, I try to keep it interesting as I can, there is a ton of construction going on in the background,, and many more pictures to share as I put things together and rebuild lots of the areas. ;)

Working the Merge Points over and Mountain Building Etc.

Excellent work Blue!

 Evening Southern,

 Got in a few hours ago from our Mexico Trip, really enjoyed eating some great Fish, and all the rest that goes with it........Some of our Family members got to close to Jellyfish in the waters, a little Stinging came into play, lucky for them no bad reactions, but you can really see the welts for a while, and these were small Jellyfish, very transparent in the beautiful blue waters........

Once home, got hungry, ate some dinner, watched a good movie, and you know the rest, fell asleep, :hehe: and then awoke, it's 1:30AM, figured I get caught up with Email and come check in the forums......

Thanks for dropping in, We played hard during the days, a bit toasty over there, lots of humidity in Loreto too.......So I worked on my Routes a little bit each night.

I'm working in the Snow Creek and just starting mainline connections to English Highlands part of the Merge, my next section is Waldabvalley to Karrah Bay Merge on the bottom half of Merge Routes.

https://www.google.com/search?q=Waldabvalley+to+Karrah+Bay&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Have played with this Route many times over the last couple of years, but lots of my work was lost when I failed to get an upload done to DSL, and my current backup was over 6 months old, that'll teach me to do better last time, so I have to go back and redo a lot of things I had changed.......Live and learn they say......:'(

I have a lot of Mountain rebuilding and blending between the tiles too at Merge Points. So lots to do.....Just takes time.........

Looks like Cowboy's UP9000's are available from Bill69, going to see if I can get them? That would be awesome

;) Take care and thanks for the kind comments........

Flash........!!! UP9000 has arrived at Bluff City Yards in Snow Creek area.......

 Oh......Mamma Mia, I'm in Train Orbit spiraling out of control....Please Trainz, bring me back to earth!

QA big Thanks to Bill69 per Cowboys approval to allow this distribution.......

https://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?140085-UP-9000s-T-ANE-version/page2

So I just got the files today, and I put this Princess on the new Yard Tracks I installed over the weekend (big W.I.P. here it's ruff)....

So brought in another Manifest Train to drop its consist off, and bunch of other loose loads, and I found my new redone UP Cabooses too, so here she is......being pressed into Test service to see what she can handle on 2-3% Grades etc.......

Cowboy's model is wonderful to have here.......Great detail........

Believe or not, I had a bad track at one crossing, caused a minor derailment, apparently when I moved the tracks they didn't connect correctly on one of the double Crossing points,,,and you can't see unless you knew to check it, I've run into this before.....! :'(

Was missing some overhead Gantry lights too,,,,:hehe:....Not quit ready for prime time here, all well....Had to get here highness on the move here with all the consist building........Rush, Rush and hope and pray all in one nice package........

I will show more pictures later, I just wanted to get these out to share.

Below, I have about a 40 car consist, or so, approx....All loaded up, and we our headed thru here at 30 MPH, 2% or so grade, no problem, this Queen can hunt.........I'm so impressed with the smooth dynamics, and pure muscle this loco has...........

Got some other things to do, I catch up in a couple of days with some pics of the Queen as she cruises the Mountains, with Grace and Power......

Thanks Bill69 and Cowboy for one great classic engine.

SP5000 and more UP9000

Good Morning all,

Been a busy day already, my Mac Book Pro's Battery has run out of Charge Cycles, so we are headed to MAC Dr and get him all fix before he stops working period. And our bicycles decided to break yesterday on a Cycle Run, so they are headed to Bike Dr too.....We go Camping next week in the Sierra Nevada's, and want to take them for touring on the Roads and Trails....

In the meantime I purchased Brazemore Route today off the NV3 site, be aware they are only taking PayPal, their Credit Cards is down and not accepting Cards now. So lucky for me I had my reliable PayPal account ready to the rescue......

I play with it later, after my Repair list is completed, thanks to Railhead001 for his help on acquiring Brazemore, so I can play with it and his new update sessions.

So now it's confession time:

Poor ole SP5000 here is low on Bunker Oil, not just any Diesel Fuel, but that ole Bunker Oil,,,,,,,LOL, and mawwwww, didn't install a Bunker Oil Tank for refueling my friend, and it had been a while since I had, I knew I had one somewhere on the Route, after searching around I finally found the one I needed.........

Next I had problems with the AJS 120' Round table derailing my Trains on the Approach Stub point of the Turntable, 3x times I have put in the Round table, so I don't know if it is SP-2 issue or something I'm doing wrong as this turntable comes in snap parts, 4 different Items......I'll figure it and let you know, it's probably user error, and I am positioning something wrong here......

So back to SP5000, I have 2 of these, I think #5000 and #5100 series.....Really nice steamers.....They came out up to play with the UP9000, as you know Size matters, and the 9000's definitely can pull, with their superior Tractive Effort and weight. However these 5000's are no slouches either, they do pretty good too, and I ain't throwing them out with the bathwater.........We are going to take this one and get the Bunker Oil it needs and take a little test run around our new yard, which is still in building stages here.

Here we go on Clear Signal off to other Tracks for Fueling. Further back on this Double main, I put in some long Crossovers Tracks for better access to other parts of the Yard, rather than needing to go down lots further to change main lines for access to East side of Yard if your on the wrong Mainline approach .

We got switched over, will stop momentarily here for our Dispatch Paper Orders. We have new dispatchers here in training with some old heads, so we want to do things correctly.......Our Restriction light on approach is due to a lot of switched ahead that need alignment for the area we need to access for our Fuel......

We dropped off our consist and Caboose, the crew has some stuff they need to pickup for it.....Our Conductor will take care of that while we Fuel up.....

Ok, got our Fuel and Crew supplies, will set here for a minute an look over yonder at the new UP9000's.......

Here is another view of the Boys, and I have a special Travel Caboose Red, attached on one of 9000's.....

[h=2]Drover Cabooses[/h] Drover cabooses came into service to allow cattle drovers to remain with their, shipments of cattle as the cattle were shipped to market. During the trip, in, accordance with a 1906 law, the railroads were required to stop every 28 hours, to feed and water the cattle, and the accompanying drovers provided the needed, manpower to speed this work along. Until the mid 1920s, UP apparently used, either already retired, or soon to be retired passenger cars to allow the, cattle drovers to accompany their herds. After that time, and until the, movement of cattle by rail essentially collapsed in the mid 1950s, UP provided, what were known as drover cabooses.
UP had 28 drover cabooses, numbered between 2022 and 2088. All 28 cars were converted, between August 1927 and July 1931, from the 500 series coach passenger cars, (with lengths between 50 and 60 feet), and the 1000-series, 60 foot chair, passenger cars, all built between 1882 and 1907. (No roster data available.)
OSL had nine drover cabooses, numbered from 2700-2708, converted in 1928 from, 600-series, 60-foot coach passenger cars. Four cars (OSL 2702, 2704, 2705, and, 2706) had bunks added in June 1933. (A roster listing of these nine OSL drover cabooses)

LA&SL had nine steel under frame drover cabooses, numbered between 3484 and 3492. These nine cars were 41 feet 11 inches long and were converted in 1926 from, 130000-series box cars, originally built in 1905. All were equipped with bunks. One was retired in 1946, another in 1948, with the rest leaving the roster, between 1953 and 1957. (A roster listing of these nine LA&SL drover cabooses)

LA&SL also had another seven drover cabooses, with wooden under frames, numbered as, 3493-3499. This group of cars was converted in 1924 from the 4100-series coach, passenger cars, built in 1891 and in 1901. All were retired in 1925 and 1926, being replaced by the steel underframed 3484-3492 series drover cabooses. (A roster listing of these seven LA&SL drover cabooses)

The following table shows UP's fleet of drover cabooses:

Here is an overview of our unfinished yard, I haven't completed it all yet, I have to get the large 120' foot turntable in and working before I put in the rest of the items, this yard is mainly for Loco Support and and Car repairs for now.

Here is a back view here, about 2/3 of of the yard is setup, I still need Caboose leads and other ancillary support items added for Fleet repairs, We have Car Wash in about the middle of the yard. Car Building Repair Shops in behind close to Large Rail overpass Bridge above which is 2 Track.

This is our other Snow Creek Dry patch Yard over here, has lots of industries. You can see the loop on left of the Yard, that connects this Yard to Alps Canyon Route below. This yard has Coal Power Plant, Oil Processing, Ice Plant, Cattle Load area for cars around the corner middle Right. And some Logging activity too if I recall correctly.

Ok....This will due for today, off for repairs.......Wow, where has my time gone today........

Take care all and thanks for coming by........

Night Train in the Alps/ Dry Creek Yard

Good Day all,

Been quite busy working on the Bluff City Maintenance Yards, I finally found a Roud House by Magana? and it works perfectly for me, it took 7 different Round Houses to find one that would work in T:ANE SP-2, some of them when you dropped on the Tile, the Tracks ends would turn up in a few seconds all deformed, really strange, I don't know what causes it, I suppose it's some kind of rendering and Mesh issue with T:ANE....But now I have a working Rpound house for my Steamers. I also have another Square Building Round House that will be used for Diesel Storage and Repairs. I have never seen one like this, it uses Clear Sky Lights for inside Lighting during the Day, I don't know about night Mode, but I suspect it has some kind of Lighting?

I got my of my Track work and Signaling updated in the yard. And ran some Test Trains. I still need to find a Water Tank for my Steamers, I have one that's on one of my other Routes that should work nice for my Steamers.

I ran one train out of Bluff City with some heavy Tank and Wood Plywood Loads, and it stalled on a 2.70% Route. Come to find out, I had bare enough horsepower with Cyclops, and needed to bring 3 Helpers to get me over one hill! Sound familiar..........Won't make that mistake again, almost had a Runaway Train back down the hill.....I can really respect what the engineers go thru with Mountain Grades and not enough power to get you up and over a hill.......

Also went thru all of Snow Creek, and fixed lots of Signal issues, I do have 1-2 two areas left to repair from Route Merging, where Tracks where ripped apart or end up in the Sky in several areas, looking like a madman's Roller Coaster attempt gone bad....

Other than that things are coming along slowly.........

My new Brazemore Route has several Dependencies missing, so I need to go thru it and find out what and where, It is easy, as anything missing shows up as a Orange Triangle representation of what it is that is missing, that's specific to T:ANE, and I like it, helps me see where it goes........

OK, so below is the of my night scene photos in Alps Downtown Airport and Hotel area......This one shows a lit Stairway to underground Rail Transportation.
vo
We are positioning our train for the night........As you can see it is Bitter Cold out.......But our Crew is nice and warm inside the Engine.

We needed to back up a little to load up some Crew Supplies etc.

Looks like we have what we need for tomorrow mornings ride out. So will spot one more time and tie up the Train for the night. Time for Dinner and some drinks I think we earned it today.

Over here is Dry Creek, I have all my industries in, and the Tracks are set now.....Just need to finish the Textures that are missing from Merge Migration. Over by the Pond Water,, we do a small logging operation.

And we the Track Spur that curves around back goes into short Tunnel and connects into another part of the Route over the Mountains, I made the Tunnel Double Track, so it splits into multi Industrial areas on the other side.....Works very well........

Recall in the past, I said we help the farmers get product, including Live Cattle to the Markets. well here is one of Spurs where we load up for Market. This location works great, we just take one of Trains, stop and drop empties, and then the next Train out will stop just coming out of Dry Creek Yard around the back corner, and grab the live Stock.. And we and the Cattle our on our way to next drop off, minimal time is 5mins to cut and load 3-4 for Cattle Cars.......Works well for all. And the farmers are so happy with us, they'll give us free cuts of meat when they locally Butcher and Dress one of their Cows, how cool is that. Yes we do some things Old School on a local level..It makes for good business partners.

We got the Cows ready to go..........They are all watered up for their Trip. Farmer also gave us a bunch of old Scrap Metal from an old Farm he needed to redo, if we would haul it away....Will get the profits from recycling, and he gets rid of hard to handle old Scrap Metal instead of burying it in the pasture.......

Here is a picture of Load Type that is used for the Cattle Cars........

I think that about does it for the day, got to get busy with packing for our Campground adventure in the Sierra Mountains, be interesting and Sad at the same time to see what the Major Fires did to our areas where we used to Camp, we have go to another now..............

 See you around and thanks for coming by folks.......

Good Day all,

I'm in a mad rush to get ready for a weeks of Camping in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains,,,

We are hoping the Fires of last year won't be as bad as they were this year......

So below is the Silver Meteor Consist running thru a new area, I have redone, what a huge project.....

Example of NNSF50 Matrix that was laid out all over the place, I removed 90% of it, slowed down my Laptop too much, probably works ok with Desktops.

Small city area, that I redid, and removed some roads , there were too many for my taste, less is better........

Making a test run to check the signals and switches out.......

A view from the the other side.

New OCR Mine Facility and it works great, love the Ore Cars, and I did make a PayPal donation to them as well.....Really like this,,,,this is test site on Route, I don't know where I'll put it.....But it is a keeper.

Love the animation that was done on this..

So coo!

Shows my Cars loading in fill lines, which I can shut the display off if I want.......

Here is the is the site I got it from.

Got to run now.......I might add more comments later

Dry Creek Yard Test Phase

Good Evening all,

Just got in from a very nice week in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, it was great experience.....the best part, our normally dry river actually had some water flowing (Snow Melt) so everyone was able to enjoy a nice swim this time.

Now to Dry Creek Yard, all the tracks were relaid and aligned with different Signals and some minor changes here and there. Cyclops 60 and some livery are running thru the yards as we check proper alignment and Signal aspects.

As you can see, our Texture needs a little rehab, most of it is from incatapable Texture that was removed when this was updated to T:ANE.

This area is still rough lots to finish part of the Yard is shown here.

Passenger Train and some Freight cars are lined up for tomorrow runs on new Main Line and switches.

Southern Pacific Railroad Police watches over a Secret Military Load in Tanker, experimental Rocket Fuel, which goes out later today, it's very volatile so it has to be handled carefully, and the Railroad knows how to do it right.

looks like our security Load is on it's way out...The Army will be happy, and the RR will make some Coin for special handling........

Looks like are new Signals will work out just fine.....

Got hit the bed, been a long day, see you all soon.

Good Evening all,

Well we are at the Front end of Dry Creek with our first Manifest Freight haul out of this revamped Facility, Army Rocket Fuel included. Will head out now at a reduced speed of 5MPH till we hit mainline Track.

This section was originally several single Track river overpasses, and just was not workable for me, if I changed any tracks or added deleted switches, could entail reorienting more than one bridge, so the better solution, make a solid overpass, one instead of many, and then I can change, add or delete tracks, within reason as I please. Much better, as well with this larger Culvert, the River flows better with better thru put design. MOW of way was very helpful with new design and implantation.

As we cross the Culvert, on the other side of the hill is small water fall that feeds this Creek, if your not looking you'll miss it. If I'm not mistaken? Our mainline curves around the hill above and crosses over another Bridge. Our UP Power is using TriCyclops 60 Power as lead unit with older Geep in the back.

As we lead out around the curve, you see one of other Bridges connecting to small Lodging and Ice Plant Operations.

As we pass thru here, we see our little Cattle Operation, today there is no pickup, and I am thinking about changing and lengthening this Switch access and Spur....I'm told out Cattle needs a some more capacity for Cattle Cars.

A lone, Another,, SP Rail Police Caboose is parked on Spur awaiting orders.

So you know what happens when get some time to go on vacation and think. And while I was doing deep thinking, it came to mind, I need to take a little break from my Mega Merger Route, just for while. I want to play some with the other Routes I have, a little break to refresh the mind after some intense rebuilding on this one.

There is a Plus too, I have huge load of Pictures yet to share from this route, so we won't be devoid pictures.

And there you have it for today.........I also want to play my other Routes so I can further weed out others that prove less than interesting.

Thanks everyone for coming by and visiting here.

Take care and have a great week.

Touring the Countryside and other things

Evening All,

i was busy fixing some stuff around the house, work never stops, and there's plenty to do, even need to fix a roof leak before Winter shows up, yes I know we are in Summer, but weather around here is never the same some years.

So below, I took my Passenger Train out for a spin, and like always, the Brakes heat up on these baby's, we come smoking hot into the Station, if you look closely towards the Bridge, you see a lot of heat and steam coming off the the Brakes, pretty cool animation by the Author.......I never have had a Fire on the Journals, but I do allow extra time at Stations to cool the Brakes down. These cars ride perfectly! We are continuing the Mainline Check for Poor Track or Signal Aspect errors etc. As we move thru Snow Creek Route.

I redid this whole City, Streets, Bridges Etc to a different Style of my Liking, and did some uncluttering ....

The Plants on the Waterway are going to be completely removed and redone, I want to see some more Reeds, Water Lilly's Etc, and not so bunched together.

Over here we are picking up Loads off new Refinery in behind us, to check Curves and Clearances, across the way, will get some Wood Gons loaded with Wood Projects and deliver them to appropriate Industries out in another area.

I llost this Bridge below, and can't find it in my inventory, it must be a Name of Someone, or Someplace, so hopefully later on I can restore it back, I had to put in another Bridge, much different. I didn't realize a couple of weeks ago, somehow one of my Mouse Clicks deleted this by mistake, and I already Trashed my Backups of this Bridge, I only keep so many Backups, and when I went to the oldest one, it was too late, the Bridge had already been deleted. Learn by my mistakes, meaning I need to keep an inventory list of some of the obscure Items I put in the Route. That's what happens when you have 435000 Items, you can't remember all of them.......

Besides as you can see this area was a Rail Yard at one time, and I decided I would redo the who thing, because it was way to crowded and not organized the way I like, just preference that's all.....So sometimes the only way to fix it is bull doze the whole thing rather than change a little here and there. It is easier, cleaner overall to start on Clean Slate, Textures is no big deal, I just paint one color till I get the yard built then add in other Colors and Rock/Plant Deco........

Cooming thru the Forest here and checking Grade % and Bridge overpass Clearances, so far spot on, Signals working in Sync with our Trains movements.

This Route has so many Twists and turns, Bridges as you can see, we have 2 Bridges overlapping us above over the Main, and you can get lost in this Route, I need to make a Matrix once I get all the areas redone and fixed from bad merge points Etc.........I believe our Engine is the Silver Meteor or Similar, originally I was running a ABB Power Consist but I found out between the heavy Pullmans and some of the Grade %'s we do better with ABBA or 4 Engine Lash up........

I downloaded some UP SD90 MAC's, DD35's Etc., and some more UP Wide View Cabooses and 3Dome Tanker's I saw on the DLS........When I get a Chance I need to Cull the older Stuff I don't use because it is Ver 1.0 to 2.0.....Going to take some time to clean out for sure.

We brought in the 4th Loco Unit, as you can see they are Smoking up real nice, and I have the right amount of Horsepower, off we go on our journey........It's a great day to take a train ride.

Coming around the bend here nice Lake on the Right, as we round another mountain.

Now believe it or not, where have you heard that before, this is a little Indian Village out in the Western Portion of this Route, it even has 3 Teepees, if you look to the far right you can see 2 of them......It has one Track inside that is a NG, and I have to get a NG Consist setup for it.....

We service the Village with a small Spur off the Main we are traveling on. So Standard Gauge and NG do not overlap, but who knows I might find the nerve to go search out my Dual Gauge Snap Track and extend the NG out past this quaint little Village........Some really cool little pockets of Scenery Decoration from the original Author........

If you look in bottom 1/3 of picture, you see the NG Wooden Turntable.........And I have the NG Livery to make something come together.....An Aw Ha moment for sure.

Here is the Service Spur towards back, I had a broken Track in here and lost some cars to the Ground, but that is all fixed.....If you look just towards the Back on Left side, you'll see a rather Steep Dirt Road going up the Mountain, it hits a Fire Station Lookout on top, pretty cool Job, I think I have some pictures of it to Show. Some cool Beacon and Lookout Fire Watch Tower, that I've never seen before.

Ok,....Getting late here, to shove on to bed......

Thanks for dropping by Folks. Keep hydrated tomorrow looks like another hot one............

Steam coming into Town on new MAin Line

Good Evening all,

Loaded up an ole timer to check the new canyon downgrades and the newly arranged Town area I redid here. I really dug this place up quite a while back with I was resizing the Grades in this whole mountain area. Excellent Grade % and Signals spot on...........

Sid e view here as we come around a perfectly curved entrance.........I am really happy with it,....I do have to come back and replace these Trees with a different type that offers a better Frame Rate.

Will make a quick Station Stop ahead and get on our way..........

We have our Signal Maintainer here to make sure his end of things are working well with no defects. Looks like MOW has some Sleeper Tie Stacks laid out for MOW work on the Main line in some spots. Probably where old switches were?

Good overhead view here shows how the area was raised some 50-75 feet higher to balance our Grade......It all came out well, except I don't care how these ribbon Trees look.

We have another passenger train passing us by on Dual Mainline here, heading up to Snow Creek thru a wonderful looking Canyon..........

Thought we follow along on our Canyon Ride, he puffing some good Steam here at about 2.5% grade or slightly more, Signal shows clear for now. We have Dual Mainline Tunnels ahead so no significant delays are expected.

Isn't she cool, what a great looking locomotive.........!!!
We are in one big Canyon here, look up the Tracks you'll see our split line Tunnel coming up......@ lines in a Tunnel are better than one in this area with the heavy Grades, Uphill trains have priority over downhill with the exception of Runaway, God Forbid, then we clear everything and pray to the Trainz God........I had one very close Runaway situation, as luck had it, I was down at the bottom and went into emergency, blew thru the the Passenger Station almost into the next Tunnel around the bend, Scary close, and taught me to watch that downhill speed and set my brakes and dynamics into play sooner than later!!!

Here we go, good signal, will take the right Track into the Tunnel.

That's it for now......Have a blessed Friday all.......Thanks for dropping buy......

Good Sunday to all,

Just finished a great bicycle ride short of almost getting run over by a driver at a his stop sign! Good thing I had fast breaking to stop!

So what's happening on the Route, well for one thing, I have been replacing missing assets on the Brazemore Route, still have some to find. Railhead001 has been a great help with that.

I drove some of his session last night and all the effort he has put in the Route really shows, I won't be posting any pictures here, as he already has a dedicated Thread for the Route and Sessions. I would encourage you to go over there and take a peak.....

https://forums.auran.com/trainz/sho...t-more-enjoyment-out-of-Trianz-Model-Railroad

The route is very compact, as it should be, yet it has lots of things to do, and it works very well.

I'm having fun with it running a little Steam Freight around the Route to get a feel for it.

Like the colors, Foliage and all the special additions.

Back on the home front, I have been redoing a very crowded Rail Yard, which was relocated to another part of the Route nearby.

Here you see some SP SD40's moving some ore and Tank Cars around with the new faciities. I redid these tracks about 6 different times to get the Switches and tight curves and delivery points the way I needed them to flow.

Texture of course is not right, but I will come back and redo that later on.

As you can see there are some Highways and Roads missing here, there is still much to do.

I moved these Tanks around more times than I would care to admit, but I think I have what I'm looking for. We are shunting some tankers here now, but these tracks are going to be changed again, as I'll move the Grey Tanks in to the right of the Tankers to a position on the far right., Also will move out the land further on the Water too. On the left is a Sewer Reclamation Plant for the City across the River.

Here is a high view of the area, I worked on this section for quite a while.......I'll post the changes on the next round.

Got a SW1200 here to handle some of the tighter curves that feed the repair building on the Right. Lots of Crisscross Tracks here, but they are laid just right and there should not be any derailments.

Added Ben Dorsey's Diesel Service Module here where a very cramped Rail Yard, Tipple, etc where bunched together. Many thanks for all the great models Mr Ben Dorsey and many others have provided us with.......

I took the Grimiest Diesel I could find and ran it thru the Module, it worked perfectly............

That's about it for now, wishing you all a great week ahead, and thanks for dropping by..........

Here are the particulars:

This is a small industry-interactive diesel locomotive re-fueling facility for use at the end of a branch line.
To unload a tank car, spot it on the track at the rear of the tower. To re-fuel an engine, spot it on the track between the tower
and the pump shed.

That's about it for now, wishing you all a great week ahead, and thanks for dropping by..........

Playing in the Canyons of Snow Creek & Brazemore Route Reviews

Good Tuesday All,

So I have been a busy little camper, and my lower back decided to act up yesterday, little Motron Pain meds helped me out, today is better, was supposed to Bicycle but I decided to refrain and try tomorrow, yes it's true Age does catch up with you.

So below, we are driving thru the Canyons here on final eval of % Grades and Tunnel redoes behind us, and everything is working out great. Texture and Trees, smoothing etc still need to be done, but the hard part of getting the 75-100 feet drop from lower Alps to upper Canyon is working out now with a smooth transition.

This is our entrance into Snow Creek and there is "Y" coming up that allows into two areas of which there is 40 foot difference in height and it will work out great.

Texture differences have to be color coordinated better here, but remember this a merge line between the two, Alps and Snow Creek.

One of my favorite Passenger Trains with a good head of Steam flying thru some colorful part of the Route. And you won't believe what I did to this part of it after I took this picture, it willl look even better......Lets just say, Water has a key part in this area, and I'll let your imagination run wild?

Cutting thru the back country now as we head to one of Rail Yards to Fuel and stop for the night. There is a lot of deep growth here, and I need to thin it out some, due to Frame loss with my Laptop.

Believe me, on this particular Route with all the twists and turns, you can get lost, I have a couple of times.

Over here the the trees are not so thick. I can actually see some of blue sky overhead.

Between here and next Rail Yard we pass thru a lot of small Farms areas. Later on I might drop in some small Fright Depots and Silos for more shunting and switching activities.

Fortunately today the Cows stayed off the Track, really hate hitting one of these nice Critters.

This is a small Freight and Rail stop here, will pick up a Farmer and some of his supplies, he is going a short distance to get back to his Farm....Good People out here. The Track in the air on the right, that's spur that goes into a Mining area, which I need to terraform and drop several Team and loading Tracks for the Mine Ore Cars that will be in use.

Pasco is the name of this area.........

So lets talk a little about Brazemore Route.

I had the pleasure of playing some of Railhead001's Sessions and seeing his handiwork, all very nicely done.

The Route is 3 Tiles, neatly Terra-formed, great landscape, and I like his additions, work crews, accidents scene's and all the Add on items he placed in key parts of the route, it makes one feel really invited to play, and liven things up......The Rail Yard is huge for such a compact layout with so much to offer......Lots of Industries to play around with. It all fits together very well. Only a minor thing I would change a little, and this is just for my preference, everyone is different in their tastes and this is in no way taking away any of what this Great Route has to offer. I would just add a few more control Signals in some spots for additional Granular control of Train movement.

The Track Curvature and switch points are spot on perfect........Texturing is awesome with a perfect blend of natural Colors with just right amount of Trees and Flora and Fauna in that I have no issue with Frame degradation at all, for this Laptop this is a definite Plus ....Very realistic looking Layout.

Try this little Route out and see what you think......I had, and will continue to have lots of fun tooling around on it............Kudos to Railhead001 and his Layout improvements, Well done Sir!!!

That's about it for now......Got some other things I need to attend too!

Thanks for coming buy.....

Hey Blue,

Love your route your building and thanks for the comments on my Modified Brazemore Yard, unfortunately since it is considered "payware" it won't allow me to alter tracks, actual physical changes such as elevation or signaling or deleting buildings but at least I could "build" over the scenery...believe me if I could make some of those changes I would
;).

 Morning Sir,

Thanks, and your very welcome, you have great talent, and it will help a lot of folks allow subtle but very meaningful changes using their personal Session Creation option in Trainz. Just keep doing what your doing, I will remain your Student in Training.....:D

Like you, I take other's work and manage them into my Merge Route ways, because it allows me lots of Latitude as to what I can change for my own use. And I don't have the creative mind of the routes I download. Event though it ends up with the broken Tracks and missing items, and broken Merge Points LOL! :hehe:

 The end result is what makes it happen for me.

With this last Mega Merger, I have learned a lot, fixed a lot of things all positive.

Route Builders are an amazing group as to what they can create be it Fiction-able or Realistic, I can play in either San Box for that matter, both sides of Fence are fun to jump over and become involved in.

You have a great weekend Sir, thanks for visiting! :)

Checking Curves, Bridges on Route

Good evening all,

Been having fun with a nasty Pinched Nerve the last couple of days, I hope you never have t deal with one in your hip or Spine area, they are real buggers! Just have to let it take it's course with Pain Meds and Stretching exercise till it gets better.

Now onto more delightful things of interest!

I have been bringing in different types of Trainz in this area, Snow Creek (Dry Creek Yards) not sure why it was named that, I have plenty of Running Streams in this area?

Want to make sure I have the right Curves, Switches, and Signal Aspects as the area has changed several times as I come back and into or remove different industries depending on my needs and and how it fits into the Scheme of things.

So far so good.......This little guy runs like a Jewel.

This area is 2 Mountain Ridges away from Dry Creek Yard, had to replace the original Bridge and Pilings, to what you see here. Will come and visit here again when I get the Texture cleaned up and painted. The Rail Grade % were all over the place and quite uneven, some folks might like that, for me I do not, unless it's on a Spur line of or heavy industrial Branch. Just my taste of preference.

Further down from picture above I changed the orientation of this Bridge, I'm still working on the Under pilings here to get what I want.

This Section is in pretty good shape here except for Texture items, BTW some of this Texture is missing due to the fact this Route came out of TS-12 build, so I have to go thru and make lots of repairs, but I really like this Route in concept. I have several Texture Tiles in T:ANE that don't work, because they are incompatible from TS-12, so I need to identify and remove them out of my Texture Menu. Probably about 15 or so.......Work is never done in new Software updates.

Speaking of which I bought some new Reefers from Swedish Site today, and they look great. Find them here

http://www.railwayworker.de/

And select the English Tab..........Then look at Payware Tab, select and your there.....They have 2 Packs, I bought Ver #2 and want to play with it a bit to see if I have any unknown issues then I plan on going back and buying Ver #1.

Passing thru our Cattle Spur here, and I have several more on other parts of the Layout, I downloaded some more Cattle Pens and Assets off DLS too.

Far look from back Mountain Range here, see our Special Passenger coming round the Curve, which I had to change several times and eat out some of the hill, till I got the right type of turning Radius I needed for this and larger Freight Cars, all good and works perfectly at 15MPH.

Below is Union Ice Company Industry below.

Coming into the yard getting ready to lay over tonight.

Dry Creek yard here, and finally I have all the Tracks and Signals where I need them.....Later tomorrow, I will finish last of Electrical Plant installation to increase the Capacity and make High Voltage Tower Connections to Small Dam located just over the hills on Left side of this Photo. Look to the Large Brown Smoke Stacks in middle rear of this picture, that is current Coal Fired Electrical Plant for this area in the Mountains.

We are stopping here for a second, get Water and Coal replenishment for our Steam Engine, this yard handles both Diesel and Steam Service, all Steam is on Right, all Diesel is back on left just across the tracks here.

Now you can see Oil and Diesel Tanks just to the Right of this Duchess Info Tab. Works great and we have good track capacity here with no perceived bottle necks at the moment. Of course I need to bring in more Freight to see if that remains the same.......

I think that is about it for now......I took a Train out of one of my other Yards and road it into the newer areas of the Route I had repaired, and went all the way to the large Port Facility area in the end of this Route, it is also in heavy Skyscraper Downtown area, which I have not showed you yet, but have been heavily doing a lot of repairs and changes, it is a really cool area, but needs quite a bit of reshaping and reorienting Yard Tracks and Switching areas where the Switch length approaches are way to sharp from some of my Diesels, All in due time, and I might expand the port a little more, but the Main Yard needs some work.............

Thanks for dropping in, and I bid you a nice weekend.

Good Sunday all,

Recall I spoke about a Spur line headed into a mining area, off of a small freight Stop, this part was hooked up to Mining area that was not quite completed right, so I came back and redid it and carved out some more of hills to finish what I wanted to accomplish.

One of the major problems I have all over this route is area's like this, see the circle area, the original Author didn't finish covering all the grid lines when Texturing, and I see this in other Routes too. So it necessitates having to go back over a lot of areas, and recoloring over the Grid lines so you don't see them.

One of the other things I have been doing is removing all this extra Road Bed Ballast. It is needed in some areas, but not the whole layout, at least for my needs.

Just another area I had to clear out the extra Ballast and I do this all in Grid view, as I find other items that were dropped below too.

We are up in Radio Land at Snow Creek Summit, highest spot on the Route. We have Freight, Diesel, and Hotel accommodations.

A view from the top here, shows all the Radio, TV and Satellite Installations, on the left side, I have unfinished Spur connections, one will cut thru the small hill and be added as a turnaround loop for the passenger trains. Since they pull up thru the Grade I have to have a way to turn them around, rather than backing down a 2.5% Grade. Took me a while to figure out how to do it so it would work.......Freight Trains is not a issue, we just switch power on the ends, Passengers train are another matter.

Our Blue Planet Passenger Train is on its way out back to the Valley. In the background is our Hotel and Media Relations Facilities.

View of the South end of this facility, and from working on other parts of Snow Creek, I found some Fire Lookout Towers and other interesting Towers that I plan to add up here. They do not take a lot of space, but will fit in perfectly with the Communications and Video theme I've started here.

It took some time but I finally got this curve in I wanted here, now when our passenger trains come in, it is a nice sweeping curve and no serious Train Car hangovers on the curves.

A view from the inside of our Auran Blue Planet Locomotives. Will see more of this mountain area on the next Post.

So that's about it for now, have a great week ahead.....

Snow Creek Return Loop/Wishram area under construction..Etc

Good Tuesday all, one great Sun Eclipse later, what an event to see.....In Calif it was 65% Eclipse, but still great one to see, another 7 yrs away for the next one......

So this is our Mining and Turnaround Loop, and now I can bring the trains nose first, then back them into the Hotel Facilities and they turned around in the proper direction for the return to the Valley Station, even got the right Signal aspect for the Diverting Route. What was needed here was a narrow cut thru the hills to get the turnaround loop in, and it worked after a few tries.

Will back in on reverse move, clear the uphill switch on the other side of hill, reverse again and head Loco first downhill, takes about mins if the line is clear of uphill traffic, if not, we lose easy 1/2 hr to 1 hours, it's all in the hand of local dispatch?

Off the Mountain and over to the extreme side of Snow Creek, it is a funny scene here today, I have a suspended Tanker on the right side of the picture. Reason is, I had to redo Rivers and all kind of Canals to get this mainline connected to the other end of the Route. So all the local industries and piers have to be re aligned and heights changed to get our downhill grades to not over 3.5% Grade? Can it be done and add an underground line to cross connect another Route Merge Point? Yes it can, will just take some time and patience.

Just another view from open valley area as we shunt some flatcars and check our new aligned Main Line.........

Few Signals ahead all Red of course because Cross Tracks have been cleared for other Manifests Trains coming up the from the Valley.

Wishram headed South here, and some more Boats left in the air on the side of hill.........

Still doing our reverse move, we pass a Silo and Freight Depo as we move South.

Comong into another Cattle and Farming area called Rosala, we now have entered a passing siding in case we need to pass North Bound Freight Traffic. Looks like more Texture work here to do.

Ah, we returned back up the Main, to our old Freight yard to pick up some more loads, this industries was just installed as a Transload area for all types of Cargo. Lots of Oil and Chemical assets on left waiting to be moved into better location in this yard area.

Building on right had a bunch of Chemical Tanks shoved into both sides, and I decided it need a redo, so I made a big mess for now, but it will look much better later on. I plan on making a major Chemical Products Co.........But in the mean time, I am working on my Port Facilities part, about 10 miles or so, away from here.

Also playing around with missing and faulty assets on some of my Routes, along with Donner's Pass by Jango, what a fantastic Route he has made.

I think that'll do for now, see you all in a couple of weeks.

Another Small Yard under development......

Good Thurs all.,

Dropped in for a second to Post, in the middle of some Vehicle Repairs, and the old pinched nerve has finally resolved itself, I almost feel human again.......

I have to come back later and finish my notes......Got to run!

OK, back to finish up, and had to remove the first picture, didn't realize but it was a dupe from last post.

So this is another small yard in the Extreme South Eastern part of Snow Creek which adjoins English Highlands Route. Yup another merge to jump over too, but will not take the work this did for conversion and consolidation.

This yard has Cement, Pier and lots of Chemical Product lines along with small Freight Stations in a 3/4 Square style setup. Our newly leased Erie Northern Power is pulling out a fresh load of commodities from a new Fright Facility.

This old building on the right needs some refurbishing and new Chemical components......A lot of the equipment sits to the left in an open Field, so will see how I can re arrange things.

And of course Erie Northern 1072 is lashed up to ole Smokie ALCO since we go thru heavy Grades, so want to make sure we have enough Horses to make the Grades, as this yard once redone, will have heavy Cement and Commodity Loads, Steel and other heavy Haul too. All good for for Railroad as we regrow this area and new customers come to do business in a budding Forest Products area.

This is our first load of boxcars, great way to start out and old yard that needs some help.

Our Ship is in Dry Dock on the other side of the yard, Next to it is Dry Bulk Cement Co.......

All these loads will be put together this morning, since our new Erie Northern unit came in late last night, with believe it or not, a nice Caboose in quite decent shape.......Yup, I'm old school and love my Cabooses, I really miss them on today's Trains, guess that's progress. But since this is my Railroad, I have Cabooses as much as I can afford them.......

Small shot of the Yard here...We have lots of open level area to work with. So I will take my time and give it a good upgrade with nice curves and plenty of clearance for all the loads this Yard will be capable to put out, this area is actually in a pivot-able spot as an intermediate destination point from Alps Canyon, English Highlands End point and also some of the Port point Traffic. But management has to be keen on keeping stuff organized and letting this area end up clogged.

A different view looking across the open fields.

Shunting with new Lease equipment we going slow on the newly laid tracks, this is our first job with full loaded Boxcars.

We got out of the yards are on our way to new customers, and these Snow Sheds have been rehabilitated with new foundations and support beams, the clearance in here was 3 feet to low, now we have room for Double stacks once they come on line later.......Ballast was laid, and tracks tamped as they were out of Gauge in some places...Don't want to have a derailment here and end up in the River below......

Coming out of Sheds we get to see what area looks like with Snow gone and everything has come alive..........

That'll do for today, see you back in another couple of days.......

Thanks for visiting.
