Snow High Valley Distr Ctr (High Resolution 950x532) Approx

Coming thru the Canyon's late on Star Lit night

 Good Saturday all,

Had some more Steam Pictures to share, as we ride thru newly laid rails and Signalling that now works as intended. We just passed by the new Diesel and Steam Yard that is setup for mountain Power support. It will be great as this is an interchange area between large Farmland and Mountain Ranges, and small city and Lake just over the hills and behind, we have some heavy grades up here with Mining Facilities so we do need extra power for Coal Runs up and down the Mountain Passes, and this small yard will fit the bill nicely.

And now he has turn on his lights for all to see as he get ready to enter a vast open valley area here. His next stop probably 40 miles out.

After this area he will have if I recall, have about 3 tunnels, one quite long, too pass thru some outcropping mountain ranges, they are two tracks, but only one is hooked up for now, we intend them as passing sidings so 2 trains can pass each other easily. Instead of only single Main Line Tunnels.

 Oh no, whats this lighted object, is it a UFO is it a Science Project lab building, I let you all ponder the answer, :o I'll answer it when I post later tonight! It's pretty dark out when you running past midnight.......But his strong steady light makes it a lot easier.

We are back at the yard here, and these Engines are going in for service tonight.

We just back up a few feet into the enclosure here so Mechanical can take a look with good lighting and Cover ...

We just got these buildings up and running for Diesel Support this week, and these are the first engines to be serviced.......Across to the right you see an old style building repairs (jr_cylindrical_workshop) I really like it and it fits perfectly in the space I had left.

That's it for now, have a great weekend all.

And thanks for coming by to see us.

Moving Day again, and changing the Night Lights

Hello again,

Things are looking better, below is our first Locomotive to drive in for 90 Service Tag, it's late at night and the next Mechanic is on duty in 2 hours. No rush, we have extra power in the Yard.

The lighting you see below is going to be removed for less bright, I thought these would work out, but they are too strong for small yard, so I will have new ones installed tomorrow.

You can see the lights here I'm removing, they are quite interesting in there design, they look like giant lit Globes.

Aggregate plant on Right in the back, will be moved to left side of yard with a Spur to serve it.

It's the next day, and the building and light moves have been accomplished.

I knew I forgot something here, I took out the High Green Grass I put in, it just didn't look right or flow right.

I just put 4 more pictures here so you can see the difference in Night Lighting over what I had yesterday, I think this will work out much better.

We have UP power coming in with some coal loads for the Steam Engines expected later tonight.

Now I think it looks more realistic with lighting Change......

Here is screenshot, show what items are where in the Yard.....

Aggregate building works great with new spur below, I was just able to get the Spur hooked into the main, after adjusting curvature of the other spurs coming out of the yard, I made a 3 way switch.

Rear view of the yard as it looks now, added a portable work trailer for mgt folks it sits just behind the Forklift in the middle of the picture....Now we have proper lighting and everything is in place.

Oh, and the strange light on the mountain in the prior msg post, it's a fallen Moon I had placed in the Sky and I couldn't find it, well taking some night shots, and it showed up,,,,so now will have to elevate into a proper position in the sky... Ya know, sometimes things just get away from us.

Glad I found it, I thought the Asset wasn't working. Imagine that.

Thank's for dropping in.

Sorry if I am nit-picking, but in the "rearview of yard" pic, JCNs 1208 and 1216 look "sharp" to me.

Not at all Sir, I bow down and ask forgiveness for a Bad Picture, :o I was tired and forgot to get out of Surveyor mode!!!

I should've put it into Drive Mode........

Thanks for dropping by.......

Evening you all,

Been a busy day, Plumbing issues and prep for Turkey Day,

Finally got a chance to drop in with some pics for you,

UP # 2024 is coming in to with empties for the new Aggregate Plant. This is a test to see how the Track works for Curves, and if there are any clearance issues we missed.

So far so good, we are shunting the empties into the Plant for Loads.

Guess the Driver was in over speed by 5 MPH in 10MPH yard limits, and he picked a switch point, someone isn't going to be happy today, Both are on the Ground so to speak.......

Penalty for this engineer if no other violations??? Retraining and 30 days off without pay.........Hopefully we don't have to much damage......MOW has been called and Yard Crews are bringing Heavy Jacks to see if we can Rerail?

Now I have to make the call to Corridor Mgr and let him know the bad news, fortunately the Main Line is clear, and this won't interfure with it?

just out of sync here, but he was coming up on the side to pick up the Gondola Load.

Grab another UP Unit and we are moving the loads out another way, while our other Derail incident is handled.

The Coal Loader Plant here and the Aggregate Plant over to left of this picture works on Point........

My tracks with exception of minor adjustment on the Aggregate Spur approach are perfect for what I wanted to accomplish in this yard.

And I like my new Yard Lights, are just the right amount of Light for this area.

It just so happens I passed a Rail Yard Tonight and I was looking at the lighting they had in their Engine and Car Sorting Yards and the illumination was similar to what I put in here, maybe a little more brighter Bulbs.

So I plan to move up to the top of the Mountain (Passenger/ Freight Combo, small turntable etc.) and relay the tracks and possibly add some different buildings.

One last thing, we are getting some much needed Rain in So Cal today and hopefully most of tomorrow, heard a report from Forest Service Yesterday, there is 100"s of 1000's dead trees up there from drought damage.........They need to be removed ASAP........

Thanks for dropping in....Comments and suggestions always appreciated.

We are on the run today, no construction for now, Steam on prairie land!!

Wow today went so fast, we are preparing for Family, so it was cleanup, fix up, and repair the Toilet Day.......before I turned around it was 11:30 PM and I hadn't been on the Railroad yet.......Shameful, but hey, Turkey day is getting closer......

So here's one of my Pride and Joys coming full steam thru the Pass. We are headed out to the Prairie Lands and it is a great day for Trainzing!!

Coming at 20 MPH thru the Ravines and Hill passes.....And yes they will have Trees again, just not today.......I miss them too.......I promise when I do put them in, you'll like the Scenery even more.

Red Signal is working as expected for any oncoming traffic as we pass a wye, onto open Range Lands ahead.

We've cleared the Passes........And here we go to wide open pasture and farmland. Beautiful Pond and Lake to the Right as we pass thru this tranquil and peaceful area.

Snow filled caps as truck on down the line.......

Pacific Fruit Express coming on thru, with good things from the Farmers on there way to the Markets.

Now I have something new to show hopefully this week, Southern 1581 has a cool project going on, and my intention is to preview some pictures of what he has been working on thru this Thread.....

More will discussed once I get it ready for Viewing.........

So with that, I bid you all a nice Tuesday Morning and thanks for visiting.....

Looking good blue! Fun fact for those up SD40-2's, if you click on the ? button in the train tab and then click on the unit itself, you can assign it a road number. They were numbered 2952-3242, 3400-3465, 3500-3599, 3603-3698, and 3700-3760 as seen there without the long "snoot" nose. Most have been renumbered into the 1550-1992 series SD40N's in more modern times.

:D Ah....Thank you for good info, and now I have a roster from your selection to start numbering them with

 This may sound funny but back when I started with IPad Trainz Driver 2, I had the thought if I can renumber these Locos, what number do I start with,,,,totally clueless for sure....

Just wondering, though, where does one look for Running Number's pertaining to any particular Loco or Running Stock?

Just google (or bing or whatever search engine you prefer) "X Railroad Roster" with X railroad being whatever railroad you are looking for. So for the Union Pacific SD40-2 in question with the standard 88" nose, I searched "Union Pacific Roster" and pulled up one of the first results I found and used that to cobble that list together.

New Castle Northern WIP Screenies......Trains are running today

Hello everyone, been real busy with Southern 1581, he is working hard to get this Route up to speed.

Here are some pictures to show all the action on the new Route.

For Questions or additional info please use the Link below specific to this Route.

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?112038-New-Castle-Northern-WIP-Thread

This is Tanker Off Loading and manufacturing area with compact Yard access.

And back over in Downtown we have the Famous Blue Planet Special cruising by, there are lot's of Freights in and around the area.

Pair of Leased Utah Sw1310 Switchers are getting ready to Hump some freight for Sorting into the yard behind.

Penn Steam Passenger train is coming thru on the main, while a Milwaukee Freight is preparing to leave the yard to for Industrial deliveries.

Penn Passenger passes by the Freight and shortly Milwaukee will be on the move too.

Running by the Yard, Penn Steam is trying to make up some time after have some delays with heavy Freight movement due to the Holidays this week.

Engineer is happy with Dispatcher as he goes thru the Clear Signal here.

What a view in the Forest as Penn comes thru a Crossing at slower speed out of the Curve.........

Easing thru the Crossing and looks like no Traffic for the moment.

Coming into industrial area here, and Freight coming out of YArd behind him will be dropping lots of Loaded cars for this Companies.

So folks, the bottom line, this route is compact, with lots of good action. Southern has really put his back into this project.

I will add more pictures when available.

Thanks for dropping by, and please drop by Southern 1581's Thread.

Looks like you're having fun with it blue. :) Nice shots!

You know it, and I haven't even made all the stops yet, it is amazing how you built it and the way it lays out works very well, there are lots of operating options for folks to play with.......Thank you for allowing me and others to test it out for you.

Hump and Shunting Day in the Yards

Good Day all,

Just took a break from Turkey Prep, to drop in and leave some more Pics for your viewing pleasure!

Our Freight has left the Yard and is making his first stop of many for Coal Car Cuts for this Mine Facility

And here are 3 will cut out and drop off.

Well you know, we had to tie up one intersection, but here is a restaurant and everyone is having midday Lunch, so all is good.

Sorry to Say our Utah Switchers had a traction motor failure, so we had to get some help from UP........

We just sent our first Hump Car down into the Yard and it is working perfectly as intended, Kudos to Southern 1581's Route building ability.....This is what shows care and expertise........

We did not over run the switches because our Tracks are long enough, and the Engineer did a perfect push on Speed, along with perfect height and Grade for Hump Rail.

That's all for now Folks, lets give a hand for Southern 1581.....This is one great route to play with !!!!

Happy Thanksgiving all......

Thanks so much to all the new Visitors coming by...........

Dropping Coal Cars off and headed to the next city.......

Good Thanksgiving Morning,

Just put the Turkey to bake, so why not drop off some more Pictures, I think that is a grand idea!

Our Freight has stopped to cut out some Coal Empty's......

Will drag them up and spot them on the next track over.

Switch is thrown, Signal says we are to proceed with caution, as the Coal has an Engine close to where we are dropping off the cars.

After we leave the Coal Co, will be stopped at next signal as Passenger special is ahead of us, we need him to advance thru the Yards to get a proceed signal at the next Bridge.
Dispatch has advised he is on the move so will have permissive restricted Signal as we follow him behind him.

Our empty's are dropped off and will hook backup the rest of our train.

Putting our train back together, and off we go.

Crossing the Bridge thru a scenic area with a river here.

Looking down the Tracks thru a Forest Wonderland, as we travel to the Yards, where will drop off more cars for local industry.

Coming to a curve we need to slow our Throttle....

That's all for tonight, I be away with family tomorrow....So when I get a chance, I'll post some more Pics as we continue our Travel on brand new Route.

Thanks for visiting, and have a wonderful Holiday.
