Snow High Valley Distr Ctr (High Resolution 950x532) Approx

CB&Q leaves the yard today.

Greetings on a bright sunny day from So Cal.

Our new CB&O is leading the way with lots of Steam ahead.

Approaching limited clear.

Looks like our Vegetation Train is clear in the siding for us to pass.

As we clear the Yard Ladder you can see some of the Dwarf signals I installed for visual clearance.

Passing the Grainery, and they are waiting for new loads of empty Grain Hoppers for the next shipment.

And here is the I.D, for this Train.

Will see where we end up later tomorrow.

I having some major Printer problem issues which I need to attend too.Never a dull moment in the computer world, keeps the ole brain sharp.

Have a good day all.

More new arrivals today from K&L Trains

Good Friday Morning all,

New Year is very close now, Xmas is just a memory as we close out this year, and I make my last trip to the Dentist to finish up some work :'(, all in a weeks work........So I bid a happy and safe new years to all of you and yours. Looks like new warm tropical storm came in last night, and continues to bring us much needed rain for the West Coast Pacific States, and lots of Snow in the higher elevations, we've been lucky to have to have these storms 1-2 weeks apart as our water is soaked into the local aquifers.

:o I have had this on my mind for quite a while,

I'm grateful for you folks that come to visit and enjoy the pictures and annotations. Honesty is very important to me, so I need to share the fact I am not too well versed knowledge wise when it comes to Locomotives and Cars, or the Era's that are associated with them.

There is so much to learn about the Railroad, far more than what I will be able to know, if you see mistakes with miss matches in the Consists etc., please forgive my Naivety, hopefully I will get a little better at over time.

Picked up so more items from K&L Trains, PRR, ATSF and CB&O Nickle Plate a few are shown today.

Below is information with Google links and additional Pictures that I was able to find for today's pictures:

Nickel Plate and Pere Marquette & Lousiville & Nashville Psgr (Polar Express)

Happy New Years Eve to all, and Grand New Year to all of you,

Wow, 2016 about ready to close up,,,,,,,So from K&L here are the new players coming aboard for a visit on Newcastle for a limited time and then they'll move on.

#1223 Looking very fine and Steamy. I didn't have a chance to take her out on a ride yet, I had to go thru a ton of Passenger Cars in my inventory too try and see what Color and Style wise would look OK with the Pere Marquette.

If there are some better suggestions for Cars, I open it, even if it's Payware?

It has a nice Auxiliary tender.

I know this is off color, and If I knew how to re skin, I would match it to the Passenger Colors, that's something I haven't conquered yet and is on my bucket list.

Baggage car here.

Got lucky to find an Postal Car, I think that's kind of cool......

Here is a rear shot of the Pere Marquette consists.

When I found these cars, I went back to DSL and found some more I didn't have, and added them to my inventory.

So will see how it looks and how it works out, trying here. because I went onto Polar Express Wiki and found there are no real life Cars they used for the movie?

It was made up props from the way I read it, unless someone can fill me in with better details, I liked the color and style of these cars.

So will see what you all think about it?

Have good evening.....And thanks for coming by.

Amtrak AC44 arrives for the new year.

Amtrak AC44, with Horizon cars in tow, Hi-Low Lights, and wheels on the engine turn, you can actually see the wheels turning as they go by, I like this, the Engine is strong, no delay in pulling the Consist behind, brakes appear to function well. Lets take her out for a spin this evening, and will keep it at 2-3 MPG as I have a few tight turns to get thru, and I am testing new signal specs.

A new consist end here, and older ones nearby, I like them both.

Inside the AC44 look at the work Dave has put into this, It looks so futuristic. Computer control at it's finest I would say.

Sun has set and the lights of the City are upon us.

We are headed for Cruise thru the city tonight.

Taking it slow here as we come out of tight but efficient curves here. Kudos to Southern 1581's route building abilities.

We mad it out of the yard OK, now we are entering the City of Newcastle, and look at the lights of the city as we come into downtown.

Railroad Bl., Newcastle is the Crossing here and lights worked perfectly as intended. Single ahead shows a diverging route patter for us.

Our cars just make the curve here, but it works OK.

Have a great evening all, see you tomorrow and will be watching the Rose Parade, can't wait.

Night all.

Touring the City of Newcastle with Amtrack AC44

Happy Pasadena Rose Parade Day,

Little cloudy out there today, but no rain yet and got to see our B-2 flyby from Missouri, that is some trip. Wishing you all great health and happiness for 2017.

So Sir Dave's AC44 #4622 is working perfect as can, too add, I just found out last night it has working ditch lights that alternate when turned on, another fantastic view, thanks Sir Dave Snow for a great job. We have a diversion on the Newcastle Loop here, will see which way we are headed. I believe will merge to the left and come back facing the long straight track we see ahead of us.

It appears the Dispatcher wanted us go straight instead downtown instead. Which is fine with us, we want to keep moving throughout the City.

We could stop at Tim's Bar and Grill, for tasty sandwiches, but I don't think the City would appreciate us tying up some Street Crossings tonight. But later on I think we might make a trip back to Newcastle and visit this quint little place that looks so inviting.

As we round the corner, we see our brightly lit Green Gas Station, nearby is LaSalle St Security's and from the looks, of their building, the Market is doing OK.

AC #4622 definitely can light the place up that's for sure, no doubt a Train is coming round the curve. Below is stack of Snap Track just in case we have problems at this end of town. Our Railroad keeps the maintenance up so this is just added insurance. It's called Pro-active rather than Reactive.

Tight curve we are in,

Cruising about 4-6MPH as we haven't run this type of equipment thru here, so far, so good. So will leave it here.

Have a great day all, enjoy the Fanfare and Games too.

Great night shots Blue! Hopefully your 2017 is going well so far. I'm slowly but surely carrying out the planned upgrades for this route. I've gotten a few lights down which have yet to be tested, might swap them out for something that lights up a slightly broader area. I've also started configuring the JR multi-industries for all of the industries in the Heather area. So far I have them all configured and just not installed, save for the one at the ice plant and the one at the power plant. Because I didn't see an option to produce ice, the ice plant now freezes french fries for shipping, so the ice plant will be serviced with refrigerator cars. I've also thrown up power lines on the route, something it was previously lacking. Still a great deal to do, especially regarding track work with installing all of these new multi-industries and also widening some of the curves to be a bit more friendly, as seen above with Dave's charger clearly showing that some of the curves are simply a little too tight. Hopefully I'll be able to get a fresh beta version out to you in the next week or so.

Pere Marquette & AC44 #4622 have meet today

Good Day all,

Well Holidays are finished, and it's time to get it, well, maybe a few more days of fun and frolic?

So yesterday we were following the New Amtrak train (see specs in popup below) we made that tight bend thru the city of Newcastle and dispatcher has just notified us Pere Marquette is on the same line and will we need to take the next siding for a meet and pass.

Nice back drop of City lights as we head out to the Country.

As we come thru downtown streets, we turn the next corner and come into a siding past Railroad St Xing.

And here is the siding set for our meet with Pere Marquette.

Pere Marquette #1223 is getting up some Steam and headed our way after a Clear signal. Next to him the Nickel Plate Road #746, Chesapeake's & Ohio #2774 are resting for now as Maintenance Check's came due, he is in the Maintenance spur. Probably just a journal and Oil Check, water integrity too, we don't want to have any unanticipated explosions. Maintenance can be ignored, delayed, but at what costs to human life and equipment, one is replaceable the other is surely not. So as responsible Railroad will handle the Maintenance that needs to be attended to, the rest as we can if it comes to that! I think our customer service with cover the maintenance costs with increased revenue from happy customers.

And Pere Marquette's beam of light shines on us as he draws ever closer, he will dim his lights so as not to hurt our eyes.

Oh and by the way, our signal aspects our working great, as intended.

What a train to behold, and will pick it up tomorrow, I bid all a good week ahead.

Thank you for visiting our Railroad today.

Pere Marquette #1223 is headed down the tracks towards Newcastle City

Well good morning, and it's hard to believe it's hump day already, where did this week go, I don't know?

Yesterday was better for me in Computer sense, I got my back remote Carbonite up going on second computer that has irreplaceable Photo's if we lost them, electronically and Hard Drive speaking they would most likely be cyberspace.......That was one of my new year wishes, as I heard others lose their Files.

The Sun is out today after several cloudy and rainy days, however tomorrow, Rain returns and that's OK, will take what we can get.

Ok... so now to Railroad business, I really like my new K&L Trains I bought over the Holidays, and last night I went over to "http://www.srstrainzdlc.com/'' and downloaded SP70 last night after reading compliments from this link....

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/show...9-44CW-Locomotives-now-available-for-download I need to see how the Locomotive installs and runs, and more important what the Version # is relative to T:ANE requirements. Below are some of the pictures of what they have, both freeware and payware items.

Looking down the tracks, we see Pere Marquette #1223.......Nickle Plate and AT-SF sitting for routine maintenance schedules.

Chugging up the main and Amtrak #4622 has taken the siding as he fits and we wouldn't , and he fit by 1/2 a Pullman car length, e gads!!! that was close.

We do a quick lights on now, as both trains will clear each other shortly.

And here we go with the Run by, amazing how different the Locomotives have changed over time isn't it.

Another quick shot before they pass within feet of each other.

Looks like Pere Marquette has just as bright of light as Amtrak Engine.

I do need to adjust some of my signals and put some more Dwarfs in the Yards too.

Coming up soon, I plan on returning my Snow Valley Merged R.R......When Southern1581 finishes his additional renovations, will come back and revisit this quaint little Railroad.

Have a great day and will revisit tomorrow.

The freeware at SRS trainz is really high quality stuff. I have had engine spec issues with some of them in DCC mode, as they are really more optimized for driver mode. Given the length of those units, I wouldn't recommend giving them their test runs on the NCNO, purely because the curves aren't meant to handle anything more than a SD60 and really they struggle with those units. Then again, you've been running some massive steam engines on it, so knock yourself out. Nice shots as always.

Thanks Southern1581 for coming by,

Hope you had a nice Holiday and New Year, absolutely agree, and :o I've been a bad boy with some too big Engines and stuff on the corners, but have to admit, it was sure fun running them.:hehe:

Good to know about the Engine Specs. What I intend to do as I can, is clean out all the below spec stuff off my Content Manager that I have acquired.

Since I only work with T:ANE now, I can't get away with a lot of stuff like TS-12 or lower. :(

I have noticed others have commented on the rigidity (for lack of better words) of T:ANE over other versions, so I guess it forces one to clean up his errors or it doesn't work in some cases.

Turn on the lights as we pass Amtrak

Evening all, been busy doing some plumbing repairs today,

So Pere Marquette #1223 has turned on his lights below as he passes AC44 Amtrak consists in the passing siding.

Further up the line, we see our Trees lit up his search light.

And as we pass the end of Amtrak, the last car shows his Red Safety lights are working OK here.

Coming up on the Curve as head to downtown area.

Nice view of passing trains along with back drop of the City Lights.

Coming round the curve at 4 MPH and all is well tonight in the City of Newcastle.

Well last night I did some Content Mgr updating, and today I was surprised seeing couple of hundred Obsolete available updates on last nights updates, probably something to do with T:ANE I would expect, so will see what happens after I let the process complete itself. And most likely I will delete all of them, I can't see what other purpose they have than clogging up more space in my growing inventory. LOL....

I found I'm missing some JR Track Kuids, on a scenery item, it's old and outdated so I going to see if I can change the Track to something else in the JR Track inventory I hold. If not, I'll just have to delete it, and that's OK because there are other scenery items available I can use, my point being, I want to fool around with Config.txt file and see if I can fix without breaking the asset in T:ANE environment. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I also have a ton of Auran Assets with missing dependencies with ver 0.0 which means I have to delete or disable so they don't show up on my Faulty list which is 523 numbers long now. Other missing dependencies are too old or missing, so I will need to edit the Config.txt on those too see if I can edit them out and allow the main asset to work?

This is besides the Texture problems that need repairing with PEV's tools and AssetX program. All part of maintenance in the Trainz world.

So there you have it folks, have a good evening and thanks for dropping in for a peak here.

Cruising downtown City Lights with Pere Marquette

Morning all,

We were fortunate enough to get close to an Inch of rain or more in some areas, and for the next week we have more storms coming in at good intervals, now we need a few days of Sun to disperse the water out. But our Snow Pack in the North has not looked this good in Years, thank you Rain God.

So Pere Marquette #1223 is taking a leisurely Cruise downtown here at night. What a sight with this Steam Engine.

And I'm super happy with these G Style Signals too, aspects are working great.....I still need to add my Dwarfs in the large yards to break up the long turn around loops into manageable sections for Train Movement, no biggy......

Wow I guess Gas is higher in Small Town, 4.50$ a Gallon, ouch! BP is making some profit here?

We've cleared the City turnaround Loop and headed back, I hear we have NS #5269 Loaded Coal Freight ahead of us that needs to clear out of Crownhart Mine Facility, dispatcher hasn't quite clear the main for him yet to proceed. We will follow him into the Next Yard Tonight. Shouldn't be an issue as there are a set of Reefers for the Ice Company that need to Newcastle tomorrow. (Thank you Southern 1581 for the nice Inventory you hooked me up with) ;)

Looking back at AC44 Amtrak controls, wow, like Star Wars here, I need to learn about these controls, it's way over my pay grade :hehe: I'm simple Simon on Loco Controls, maybe it's easier than it looks I don't know. Thank Goodness I have an experienced Engineer at the controls with 30yrs of experience to keep me out of Trouble, can tell you one think this Engine is very smooth and elegant, Cheers to Sir Dave Snow's Creation last year. The Man definitely knows what he is doing and one heck of an Artist!

And here is our Loaded Coal Drag just about ready to leave once Heather Dispatch Center give him his orders on the Radio to proceed.

Oh  well it looks like Dispatch stacked the Signals for him and he is on the move to Power Plant Facility now, good for us too. We've already burned 3 hrs on our shift of 12, that counts for Train Prep, Order Pickup at the Yard and Driving thru the City, time flies when your having fun.

I had to think which Train i was on when I took this screenshot, yup it was 2AM in the morning and I was getting sleepy for sure, It was our Loaded Coal Drag out of Crownhart Mine, and he's just entering Town now, coming close to the Crossovers. Will have to see if there are any Empty s ahead for us to move out of the way at the Power Plant.

I started doing a lot of work on my Assets Errors in T:ANE last night, I only have about 523 of them listed as Faulty with a large portion of Versions below 3.5 and you know what that means? I discuss that more later tonight maybe.

Thanks everyone for coming by and and have a great weekend too.

Lots of Freight delivered, Snow & Rain coming in soon.

Evening all, it's Sat Night and been out with the In-laws most of the day, Tonight was the first chance I got to fool around with the Route. Dropped in some more Dwarf Signals in key points of the yard, and some other spots, dropped in a x over switch by Grainery, will see how it works.

So last night we got Freight Loads and empty's for the various industry's on this side of the layout. Below you can see 2 lines of new freight in Heather Yard.

This is the end of Loads we got in here.

These are Pacific Fruit Express Cars, you haven't seen around here. We are going to get them setup with Ice from Union Ice Co, so we can chill Fruit and Vegetables for the market in Town.

This is Ice Company here and will shunt the Boxcars over here later on.

Empty Tankers and Full Coal Cars to attend too here, lots of Shunting before that nast Nor Easter rears it's ugly head.

ICS Central #429 Sw1200 Switcher and Geep38, NS #3375 on the other track with Pacific Fruit Express Boxcars. Are in the yard hooking up to Drag them down to their respective industry's. And as you can see, our Storm is approaching at the Front Door here, Temperature has dropped and Snow is starting to fall, so we better get the move on.

I've cleared out quite a bit of Passenger Trains now, so we have more room for Freight to be brought into the yards.

As for Faulty Inventory in Content Manager, 523 Assets worth I'm working on that a little at a time to try and due the repairs or deletions needed, found missing Textures, Version issues, the usual gambit of plethora you'd expect in T:ANE environment.
I plan on using PEV utilities as I learn how with Trail and Error.....

Have a blessed Sunday all and thanks for coming by to visit.

Figure which cars go where in a Snow Storm....Yikes?

Evening all,

Its Sunday, been out with family most of the day, and removing the Xmas Decors around the house, always something to keep me busy.

(Thanks Southern1581 for the kind comments, R U headed back to school this week, if so good luck with classes!)

So the Snow is coming down, and I'm trying to figure out which cars go where as they are lumped together. On Par for normal.

Here we are pulling some Tankers for Caterpillar Siding. They'll have some pump trucks come and transfer the fuel to fill their tanks and other Cat Equipment that's in for repairs.

And we needed a Crew Change, and the Yard Manager missed Crew for this job, so we are delayed a few hours while they Call up a patch Crew to fill in.

Sorry have to run, I'm on the road, I fill in later what's going on here with the Shunts.

Thanks for your patience, our Patch Crew was found, but do to the weather it took till tonight for them to get in. But things will work out OK, we aren't on tight schedule here as long as the loads are in place for tomorrow. The better part of a difficult situation, our loads and empty's our here in Heather Yard, nice and close to the industry's.

On the bad side,I can see I need to better organize my Yards so I don't have to due this much shunting around, however because I still learning how to organize things, maybe it does all work out. I definitely need more experience for sure in this part of the game.

Were sending the ICS Switcher down to Penn Chem and drag out the Corn Sweetener empty's.

NS #3414 is doing double duty here to save some time, pushing Tankers for Cat into the Spur and pulling the Refrigerated Cars in with him too.

A little bit further down the track and the Tankers will be spotted. We need to see when Liberty Propane needs more Fuel brought in too? So it will be a busy night as we get everything sorted out.

Thanks for dropping in tonight.

Buying some Jointed Rail item's today, fix Bogeys on Loco's, do some more Shunting

Good Monday evening,

I was bad again, imagine that, I went shopping at JR for some things on Sale, and it was a great day, a little at a time I build the specific collections I'm looking for.

Bought these:
EMD GP9 Amtrak (Phase I) EMD SD70MAC - BN

EMD SD70MAC - TFM EMD SD70MAC - CSX (YN3)

I especially wanted the GP9 Amtrak(phase 1) The SD70's will only run on my Route, as Newcastle isn't made for more than SD60's which is perfect.

[/TABLE]
I found some of my SW1200-1500's had some missing Bogeys that I suppose went obsolete before T:ANE probably, so I went about trying to substitute some different ones and I was able to find some that worked out OK. So I learned how to edit config.txt files saving the original in case I mess up.......Now I have 3 less faulty assets. It's a good day.

So back to the shunting at Caterpillar Spur., dropping off the Tankers for them. Then will have the switcher at the back pull the reefers up and will trans over to Grain siding and do a runaround the Reefers.

We are in the siding stub here, and Reefers are being pushed back into Union Ice Co spots behind us.

On the other side, Penn Chem co empties are being brought out by Yard power so new loads can be brought in for unloading.

Lots of movement on this snowy night, so far it's clear enough not to hamper Shunt moves and Signals are working as intended.

Just to be safe in the Snow Storm, we put on our Fred for rear end protection, there are other Trains out here headed to our yard from Newcastle and the Mines etc, so we can't be to careful.

Penn Chem empties are on there way to the yard, and will drop them in first open track and swing around the return

So tomorrow, I'm going to run PEV's image repair utility and see if I can get some of the Textures fixed and change to correct Format that T:ANE is expecting.;)

Night for now, I bid you all a good day tomorrow.
