Snow Effects

I just thought of something interesting. Would it be a possibility to create a rolling stock asset that creates no gap in between cars that simulates snow flying up around the train? The asset could be put in between cars and maybe another one that has a lower height for the snow in front of the locomotive? I don't know much about scripting or modeling, but couldn't an attachment point with recolored smoke or something of the like that only turns on after a certain speed be placed on an invisible traincar? Just an interesting thought. It would be really cool to simulate snow effects in Trainz.

I did try to do that with my snow plow the problem is the smoke only goes light gray in color it don't turn snow wight.

This could/should be scripted on the locomotive and vehicles, so long as you can detect the snow-line via script (not something I've tried personally, I would be interested to hear from anyone who achieves this though), rather than as a separate vehicle (doing this will cause problems with physics, and eventually performance if you need one between each car). You just need the right texture/smoke effect combo to make the actual effect, and of course the script. You'd also need to detect the train speed, as this should really only occur at lower speeds.

You could also use the same to create dust when moving at speed, or 'spray' when raining. :) And would probably increase it a little when it's actually snowing (probably make an effect that takes on the train momentum so that it 'drifts' along with the train a little).
