Slow forums

If I remember correctly we already had this issue time ago:

The forums are very slow in reaction. Worst times are around afternoon and evening Greenwich time. Sometimes it takes 2 minutes until a page has loaded.

Now add reading 5 topics and 3 postings and you'll easyly know how long a visit in the Auran forums takes.

Would be nice if there could be a speedup :wave:

P.S.: This is valid for Trainzdev forums, too.

There could be several reasons; too many people trying to access the forum at once (There are only a finite number of connections available) or more likely the internet itself is clogged which is totally outside of Auran's control. This was especially noticeable on the night of the US presidential election. Think of the traffic on an Autobahn at rush hour and in the middle of the night.

I noticed it as soon as they changed the forum scheme to 09. The 09 Dev site is slow as well. I wonder if Auran has lowered there band width? None of the other sites I visit are slow so I know that its not on my end.

I believe we have been switched to another server , while Auran works on a new , more secure site .
For me it slowed down after we were receiving all the abusive posts ?

Uploads to the DLS have been running like molassas in January. Some take as long at 25 minutes.

I too have noticed the poor speed of the Auran forum over the last few days.
It's never been this slow since I've been a member of the Trainz fraternity.

It looks like there need something to be done again. There are enormous loading times on Auran pages (forums, trainzdev ...)

Right in this moment it is true, fast forums. No comparism to 1 hour before when it took minutes to open a page

Mine sped up day before yesterday but yesterday and today the forum and the DLS are running slower than molasses in Alaska in December again. It takes 30 sec or more to load a page and sometimes times out before loading.

Things really sped up a couple of days ago, but now, it's slow as molasses in winter. I don't have this problem with other sites that I visit. It's very frustrating to just sit and wait a couple of minutes for a page to load.

Time to open a different forum page(not Auran related)(average): 3s
Time to open Auran forum page: Network error (operation timed out)
