How many polys?

How many texture files?

How many draw calls?

Are the wheels and so forth animated?

A very nice model. I too would be concerned at the polycount if it were exported Trainz, it looks very high to me. Would I be right in thinking it currently hasn't got any textures? If so you might want to consider an AO bake and maybe some subtle weathering, otherwise I suspect it will look a little "flat" and toylike in Trainz.

On another note I'm not a fan of the modern style padlocks on the toolboxes. I doubt the toolboxes would actually have been locked in daily use and if they were locked they would probably have the old style lever padlocks. You see these locks all the time around railways.

Trainz can support some very reasonably modelled rolling stock. This hasn't been rendered in Trainz as far as I can see. If you look at the renders from Blender etc for work in progress you'll see a similar standard. However TANE has to render 30 times per second not take an hour or two over it so there will be differences.

If you look at the underframes on my recent wagons / vans you'll see the detail is there. Have a look also at KUID:252585:101663 Mason's recent LMS van. It's quite something and it runs without a Liquid nitrogen cooled Titan GPU.

On YouTube, people see all these fancy videos showing off the latest models that DTG Train Simulator releases, and Trainz has mostly, well, "crash" videos and Thomas videos. Not to say the competitor doesn't, though. I would understand, from a media perspective, why Train Simulator seems to be winning, but N3V can't legally flush out all those videos that give Trainz a bad name to other simulator enthusiasts.

One thing that forms such mindsets could be that there isn't much high-detail content where the poster is from, in this case, Spain.
