Silver Land problem in Trainz 2009

airtime

the age of the train
In the past I reported a fault, that at a certain time of the day or when trains run through tunnels, the surrounding land would turn silver, I,ve now found out what causes the problem. You can try this yourself on any edition of Trainz 2009.

firstly in surveyor go to any route of your choice, and set the good weather fog to 1 or maximum full, also tick off the weather/time box in driver options

then set the time to 18:30

and then add any engine with headlights, I used the BR Deltic Blue.

and then press CTRL and F2 together which then automatically sends you into driver.

now put the headlights on the engine and watch the dusty brown land appear all around you.

if you then select the weather rule and then set it to cloudy, your land will go silver.

and if you set it again to drizzle or rain then the land will turn blue.

maybe you already know about this problem, but just in case you didn't, I thought I should alert you it.

I've tried this on 3 different versions of Trainz 2009 - 2 DVD and one beta version with the same results, Trainz 2009 was set to compatibility mode and in set-up all the green ticks appeared.

My computer is a brand new pentium dual core 2 processor and features a Nvidia Gforce 7800 graphics card. The main reason I use cloudy and good weather fog together is beacause most of my routes are based in the UK, cloudy and foggy is normal for us here in England and also because it speeds up the frame rates when the train is running along the route, and everything runs fine until 18:30 or when train reaches a tunnel and then the silver land appears.

I don't think Auran know about this, but if someone could please let them know so they can fix it in time for there next edition, I'd be very grateful...

Many thanks for your time

Joe Airtime

P.S sorry about this being long winded, I tried to give you the information as brief as possible, but in understandable english.
