Signal Puzzle - TS2009 SP4

I have a bit of a puzzle. I'm currently using BR 5 signals on most of my route, but they are causing trains to run at 11mph in a 125mph limit.

I've also tried using snowsignal's signals, but they bring my route to a halt due to the amount of messages they send. I think Bloodnok's signals may have a similar problem.

Anyone got any ideas how I can work round this? It is a very large route.

Shane

Hi Shane.

Does this issue affect a particular type of loco/train or is it all of them? What is an example of a message?

I'm making an assumption that the signal spacing is fairly 'normal'. It might be an idea to try a simple loop with a couple of signals on it to make sure it's not something corrupt in which case an EDR may help.

The 11mph bug can affect any train. Lately it's been Class 321 London Midland trains.

It's usually the SignalChanged message that is broadcast, which I believe is helping to clog up the message pipes, and seems to cause other messages (like Schedule,Complete) to be discarded.

Even after an EDR, the problem does not clear, and in the case of the BR 5 signals, this is the case in their original form.

I'm currently testing Bloodnok's signals, and will post a Jetlog in a few minutes time.

Shane

P.S. I think there may also be a message issue with the LightUp scripts used by the class 321s as well.

Hi Shane.
As pfx has suggested can you try a single board test layout with nothing but signals and see how that goes.
Is this the same route you were having troubles with before when we talked? You seemed to stop communication about it so I assumed you had solved all your problems.
Wrap it up and send it over for a trial and I1ll see if I can help. :wave:

Found an interesting thing or two with the test route.

Firstly, the frame rates were around 100 fps.

Secondly, I noticed the following in the Jetlog, which concerns me. Something for Bloodnok to look into?

? 2:24.3 : WorldState::WarnObsolete> TrainzGameObject.GetAsset> invalid call to GetAsset() prior to Init(Asset) being inherited
? 2:24.3 : ScriptLog> function $void@Interface::WarnObsolete(string), line -1
? 2:24.3 : ScriptLog> function $Asset@TrainzGameObject::GetAsset(), line 83
? 2:24.3 : ScriptLog> function $void@VSRSignal::FindNextSignal(), line 197

Shane

Try a few different signals one at a time. It's strange that you should get this message as it would seem you are alone with this at the moment. I'm afraid I no longer run 09, only 12 and 06 <ahem/06 best Trainz so far) but if I can try to replicate your problem in 12 I may be able to find the cause. :wave:
By the way, I imported my very large route from 06 into 12 that uses only Bloodnok's and snowsignals signaling and have no troubles at all, although I have not used any of snowsignals scripted set ups, just the plane signals out in the open tracks. The only scripting/junction set up signals are Bloodnok's.
P.S.
How the heck did I manage to just change the text size like this?

If you are referring to the WarnObsolete message, it appears with pretty much any of Bloodnoks Sig series. I can send you a copy of my test route and session if you want me to.

Shane

It may help. But do you remember the last time you tried that?
You sent me a session marked as a route and it took me ages to realize that it was you that had messed up and not me :hehe:.
Yeah go ahead Shane, I'll see if I can track it down from here.
This is the best thing about Trainz, the puzzles it throws at you are worthy of the Times Crossword. ;)

Hi Shane, I just ran your route with the consists provided and had no problems or bugs at all. Although I must add that your signals are way too close together and I suggest you try and move them out of each others range as they do seem to be conflicting with each other in that respect.
This was in Trainz 12, but I think the bug must be on your side somewhere. :wave:

I will have a look. In which area did the signals seem too close together? In most areas I've tried to keep them one baseboard apart.

What did your Jetlog read like re: the signals?

Hi again Deano5,

Thankyou for posting the log. I've just found that <kuid2:60850:28100:1> is NSE Clock, which I do have at a few stations - it does not appear to have the a.sound entry. I need to check this with Bloodnok. In the meantime, I've had to comment out the World.Playsound in the script file.

As for <kuid:69978:23033>, this is STL S ControlBox. I cannot seem to find any reference to an animation file, but I'm looking to remove that asset as I'm no longer using it.

As for the other signals, I believe this is a problem with the assets mentioned.

Thankyou for the assistance so far.

Shane
