One of the things that keeps me away from Trainz is my 5" gauge railway in the garden. Some photos of the Bellaria, Alpine & Northern's motive power:

Hey weevil, how long's the main track in your railway? I soon plan to have a small 7 1/4 inch track of my own.

Regards

My grandfather recently handed down to me his pre-war Lionel 229 with 2666T whistle tender and a red Pullman set. Both are in near-mint condition. As they are currently in bubble wrap, I'll see if I can get pictures soon. :)

Sorry for the bad quality.
(Yes, I know the lead main track needs to be longer to allow the closest industry to be switched.)

And some pictures of the model I'm building. It will be used as a fuel transloading warehouse.

Just splashed out £75 on this...

Yes, it's the oh-so-hard-to-find Triang EM2, this one being No.27006 'Pandora' in late 60's electric blue.
£75 is actually not bad at all for one of these, there's a near identical (boxed) example currently on eBay for £300 ($433)...

Wow, what a brilliant find! :D

Now here's some more of my brilliant finds:

12697199_191727067851726_6646700044884739304_o.jpg

(both of those = $50 total spend. There's 63 pieces of Triang 'Standard' track in the box and only two aren't usable.)

(Just the stuff on the track and the boxed cattle wagon. $42 total spend.)

(4 Hornby coaches and a Tri-ang horse box. $60 total spend)

(Tri-ang Exploding Car. $25 total spend)

All that for only 11 pounds/$22 AUD more than that EM2. :p

Got the kadees in the mail today, took about 4 weeks, here's a test video as I don't have the couplers all to the same height as I set them to scale height, like 10mm to the foot and 15mm to the foot.

all I need now is more track, need 12 LGB 1200mm lengths.

Cheers.

We all post locomotives and rolling stock, why not buildings?

A kit I've been working on. I've put lights in the unloading area. Needs a few more details and paint still.

A Tri-ang Britannia and Princess.

These two were a gift from my local model train club. The people down there are so kind to me and they treat younger members well, as long as we're respectful and follow the rules.

As well as these two, I got a few odds and ends that I will try to find a place for, as well as a mistreated Bachmann 4MT 4-6-0.

Both have smoke units. The Britannia has a Seuthe smoke unit, which works very well. The Princess has a complete SynchroSmoke unit that has been disconnected and will require re-wiring.

What do you use as smoke fluid if you have any engines with smoke units? I use baby oil in the Britannia's Seuthe unit.

Kieran.

Hi Kieran, I remember when I was growing up I had a Life-Like HO scale US outline 0-4-0T 'tea kettle' loco with a smoke generator and my dad specifically used sewing machine oil in it to make the smoke. It should be sold still at any craft or fabric retailer. Homeware stores like K-mart may also sell it too.

That's not a bad idea. I might have to do some experimentation to see what works best. I do get a fair result with the baby oil.

Alright, I've got some very good items to share today. :D

1. 1968 Tri-ang 'Stephenson's Rocket', with two coaches. Has a smoke unit inside and the motor works. I'm just waiting for some replacement brushes to arrive as the ones inside were worn.

2. A 1962 Brush Type 2 / Class 31. Only 10,000 were made in this livery, which is 'BR Electric Blue' with 'Duck Egg Blue' window surrounds.

3. A bunch of Transcontinental items, including a TransAustralia Bo-Bo and a Helicopter Car, sans helicopter.

4. And some British carriages and wagons.

And then there were also some scenery items and the like that aren't interesting enough to show.

Kieran.

is the reason there's so many two axeled, hence four wheels, freight cars because the area doesn't need to move as much loads as in other areas? I always wondered why...
