Some advice, seeing how you're still on the first baseboard. Probably a good idea to raise the height of the entire board up to whatever height you want at the summit, otherwise you'll find yourself building most of the route in negative elevation, which will be silly to say the least. (Quick what's -42+3?)
 
Here's a bit of my Cape Anne route I'm working on... I have a long way to go to Gloucester and the line to Rockport. This is Annisquam and Lobster Cove.

No tracks exist so I'm doing a bit of Imagineering over the area. There were once old granite hauling narrow gauge and standard gauge lines in the area so I suppose I'm stretching things a bit! :)
