Show Off Your Routes *Potential For Large Screenshots*

Make your terrain unlevel, then I lay my track at the level I want. Then use the level tool to make the ground under the track the correct height, thats how you get cut outs and embankments.

Pro tip:
If you're using track that doesn't have a fill underneath it, like just strait ties or a track that just doesn't have a ballast fill, if you want to cut your track out, but after you use your track out there is a gap between the track and the ground, lower track by .2 and it brings it down to the ground. When using the smooth tool, the ground level is set .2 below the track

Early WIP still.

Yeah, I'm extremely stupid. Taylor, no offense to you but I didn't understand any of that. This is what I mean:

EDIT: And maybe even the hillsides too, I'm good at almost everything in surveyor except for terrain.

Under the track tab, there is an advanced button at the bottom, use the smooth tool in the advanced tab. Then apply what I said above.
:)

Ok, I'll try this. Thank you. Also Taylor here is an example of how HORRIBLE I am in surveyor with terrain.

There is a Displacement tool under the terrain tab. Select what type of displacement you want, I suggest mountains, turn it really low and you get nice hills like in Taylors pic.

wow!, I'm using the toll you suggested Jackie, and I'm using "Mountain 02", I turned threshold and sensitivity all the way down, and I do not get anything near to the definition "smooth", just jagged.

Luvintrainz: It is really just all about practice, Here is a route I build a year and a half ago:
This was the best I could do for the time.

Some one told me: Practice makes perfect. This is what I use today:

Thank you PBY, but I used and exhausted all options for the displacement tool, and it ain't a very nice result, so I'm just gonna stick with flat routes.

Guess whoever took the pic is bad, Ill go off and fire his sorry ass for this. I am so so so sorry sir, we will take corrective action immediately to preserve our "customer company" relation ship.

Bentrain14, you banner with multiple images (5 of them), flashing, with overly bright headlight lens flares is very distracting, when trying to read the text of a thread ... very obtrusive ... could you please calm your banner styles and colors down a bit ?

I have noticed allot of other banners that are so blindingly colorful, one with an American flag, that the blinding banners distract ones eye from the text.

It's like allot are competing to see who can push the limit, and make the most obtrusively blinding banner.

I completely agree with you, a lot of these peoples banners are getting quite annoying, really, I just haven't wanted to say anything about it, but I feel the same way as you cascade railroad. Anyways, back on topic...
It's still a Work-In-Progress, but It's going to end up being a Union Terminal-style route, loosely based off of Cleveland Union Terminal.

I have a trackplan of CUT and I know the general arrangement of tracks in the area if you want some help or need something to base it off of.
