Show off your reskins!

New fictional time! Formed in 1932, the Dallas, Tucumcari and Kansas City Railway ran between its three namesake cities. Here's an SD80MAC for the railroad, one of 37 on the roster. At the front is the signature "Chessboard" or "Checkered" strip on the safety stripes, a hallmark of the modern DT&KC paint scheme, released in the year 2000. Also featured is the "DT&KC.com" lettering on the long hood (not a real website). All DT&KC locomotives were equipped with Nathan K3LAs starting with the SD60s, and before that they were equipped with Nathan Old Cast P5s. More to come, stay tuned!

First Trainz 2019 Reskin

I recently bought Trainz 2019 and I am learning how to reskin. I know this is not great, but I will get better. This is a fictional West Coast railroad idea.

Nice work on the loco, where did you get it?

Good Morning all,

I have a tooth that kept me awake last night, Root Canal scheduled in 2 days, ugggh! :'(

So I came here to see some Eye Candy, and found some great looking Reskin Pictures. Got my mind off this dang Tooth Issue....:p

Thank you for sharing, and for the new ones working in Reskins, they look nice, just keep practicing.

I don't like posting bad reskins, but this is a step forward. Mainly just a blanking experiment I tried on the MP GP50 from JointedRail. Will clean this up and post more when I'm done with it.

After many hours of work,, I present three versions of the Seaboard System U36B - Swoosh, Family Lines and SCL schemes. I'm really happy with how well these turned out.

Oh absolutely, I am for sure! Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback. I'm glad that I was able to extensively research these U36Bs too thanks to the lot of photos available online. Seaboard had 108 of these U-Boats so they were an excellent choice in all ways to model.

My next Seaboard System project will most likely be an SD45. I'm really looking forward to starting it once I get the SCL SD45 from Jointed Rail. I'll be use the same color palette from the U36B on the SD45. I've already done some early testing with a blank from the ATSF Kodachrome SD45. This is gonna work. As you've said before, the colors are already spot on. :)

What’s up with the phantom dynamic blister? And the numberboards look a bit off?

The blister is left over from the bump map as I reskinned it from a model that had one (fixed), and after trying 3 digit ARN that made the side numbers look terrible, I went with 4 digit ARN just so it wouldn't look terrible.
