Show off your reskins!

G'day All,

I decided to have a go at reskinning JR's USAX GP7 into the Tennessee Valley Railroad's attractive colour scheme, using the skin from their JRPX version as a starting point.

It's certainly not perfect but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

The MILW SD45 as it stands. There's just a couple more things to clean up, and I've got ARN to add (please educate me on repositioning ARN to the dynamic brake blisters).

Really happy with how this turned out!

PRR ex Delaware & Hudson RS-3 - this group of RS-3s was leased by the Pennsy in 1956 and bought and rostered in 1958. They most likely were all retired or traded in for newer EMD, GE and ALCo second generation power, before the 1968 merger with NYC to form the infamous Penn Central. PRR and NYC also owned many RS-3s built new for them by ALCo that survived into the PC and Conrail eras.

I like your weathering on it......I think that building a LOCO is hard enough, at least that is what I have read, over the years, but Weathering is something else to make it as Dirty and Grimy that it looks like the real thing......:p

Your model came out very nice and you should be proud......Thank you for sharing your Crafts!

I can't take credit for the model, all credit goes to Justin Cornell (norfolksouthern37). Thanks for the complements though! Weathering was a challenge to get the skin just right. The MILW never did have the cleanest locomotives, that's for sure!

Repositioning the ARN will require editing the mesh, which can be a pain.

You might be better off painting the numbers on the skin itself (save a copy without numbers first) and editing the ARN range in the Config.txt to only show one number on the numberboard. Set the low to, for example, 1234, and the high to 1235. Only 1234 will show in game.

That's a sharp looking skin, by the way. Great work!

Matt

I've been working on a small switching route that I hope to release to the DLS at some point. It's an industrial complex switched by the Chicago Rail Link (a short-line in the city). There aren't any locomotives in the CRL livery. While they don't use a MP15AC, it's one I could release without trying to get permission to rework a really old locomotive. So, introducing, Chicago Rail Link MP15AC #21:

For anyone interested it is available on the DLS.
