shortage of H.O scale models?

K4driver

gone from this chaos/ruin
anyone else having a hard time finding some H.O scale Models? The Place I look has almost no kits for rolling stock (not the blue boxes, those were discontinued) but rolling stock kits in General.

No I'm not having a problem finding my models...i eather get my online, or my local hobby shop.:hehe: not that i get to many any way, so expensive....:o I live in Florida. DR:wave:

On John Allen's-Gorre & Daphitid RR, all stuctures were meticulously hand built using wood and paper, for @ 50 cents of materials each.

What you need

What you need to find is an older store, they ussually got some of the older kit models collected..... I personally go to a place up in Sacramento Ca that has been around for a while... a little further up in roseville is another one of my favorite hot-spots..... Its just a matter of hunting around for a honey hole of model trains..

cheers

You think its hard finding H.O. Models?

Try finding some hon3 rolling stock. And then, try finding some that isnt D&RGW!
Look on Ebay or anyplace that sells hon3, and I promise you there will be at least 1 piece of D&RGW rolling stock of some kind. Kit or pre built.

That is where it is hard. Most of my cars are D&RGW or colorado modeled. I only have 1 car that I know for a fact would have been on the line I model, the Southern Pacific NG (Carson & Colorado). Now yes I dont model the scenery, but I do try hard to get stuff that resembles SPNG rolling stock. 2 of my 3 current engine are bassed off of SPNG prototypes, all three are brass. SPNG 2-8-0 #1, and SPNG 4-6-0 #9. My third is tender driven 4-4-0 bassed off standard baldwin designs, and I have it becouse it closley resembles #10 of the SPNG. I will however give in and by one of Blackstone's new C-19s when released. Its not like Im getting a K-36 and lettering it SPNG or something.

So yea, non D&RGW hon3. Now your talkin hard to find.

Edit: Reading my post I find it myself a little harsh. This isnt ment to be a personal attack in anyway. Sorry if anyone takes it that way.

You think HO is hard, try finding G-Scale West Side Lumber Co. shays.

Cheers,
JRT
How about me trying to find G-scale Big Haulers at a great price and trains that will run on 5' or less curves.

There is a great hobby shop in Canberra. It literally has hundreds of 1950's US locos, as well as alot of modern US locos. It has the old blue boxed model kits (for rolling stock and locos) and Hon3 locos and rollingstock.

You might want to consider a trip to Canberra...

I also noticed a shortage of HO steam locomotive kits that at one time were being sold by Bowser, now those are hard to find!:(

Ah, forgive me lol, I have not the slightest of ideas of how the West Coast ran, I only studied the ET&WNC and a little bit of the EBT lol.

Rock on!
Dusten

it aint like I can afford any of these RTR kits that Athern is producing (yay no job and no College!)

not the blue boxes, those were discontinued

What.

/drops everything and runs screaming to the nearest hobby shop to buy up all remaining blue box kits

EDIT: at least we still have the Bowser kits, which are great if you only care about the Pennsylvania Railroad. (luckily I only care about the Pennsylvania Railroad)
