Shadows missing, why?

I have been reviewing the various direction videos to set the environment colors etc. However, under know circumstance do I get any shadows cast from any object. Am I missing some toggle for this? In the videos I can see shadows moving as people are manipulating the various settings, but I am not seeing this. Help?

Srobertson1956 - On the Launcher for TRS19_Platinum, visit the Trainz Settings command button and then select the Performance tab on the Trainz Settings dialog.
Set Shadow quality to 'Ultra' and Main shadow resolution to 4096 for the very best results, or to lower settings if your PC cannot handle the extra load.

I will try that. Would not have thought to go to some other menu! I assume a MAC platform acts the same way. Thanks

The shadows settings can have a large impact on frame rates and performance in Trainz. You'll need a decent GPU to run shadows at Ultra and with 4096 resolution, but IMO the realistic appearance is worth upgrading your hardware if needed.

Thanks. Yes my older MAC could not Handel Ultra, so I dialed it down. Shadows look good but they quiver. I will play with the other settings more to get the right balance.

Or... just leave shadows off. The weather man says it overcast today.

I have shadows off. I could not stand the "shadow" that runs down the edge of the track and edges of objects. They seem to "shoot out" in segments, not being smooth in "forward" transition. Un-natural and disruptive to me... So yes, it's constantly overcast here!
