I held out until TS12 came out running 2004, then moved up to TS2010 I think that was a good move, I'm still
with 2010, because there are so many probs with TS12, that moving up is not worth the hassle.
If you want a solid version of Trainz, then 2010 is the way to go.
Settle & Carlisle is built in to 2010, if you want to make amendments to the buit in route (it's not perfect) there is no DRM to stop you making your own version.

Erm Settle and Carlisle is not built in to 2010. Always has been DLC / payware
but ca you get it for 06
It can be added into TS12 no problem, but be careful if you're going to use the extra content from the S&C website. It completely screwed up my TS12/S&C content.
I think I used some from each. I think I'll use just the SnC site in future.
There are a few locomotives that are on the TC3 site but not the SnC site - the fictional 2-10-0 version of the 8F, the MR Red 3F 'Jinty' and the large logo Class 40.I think the ones from TC3 will screw up the installation. As far as I am aware there is nothing on the TC3 site that is not on the SnC addon site.

Yes, they do require minimal fixing, but they're not necessary.Incidentally, the Jinty and the Stanier 9F were two that didn't work. I can do without those though, think I'll stick to taking everything from the S&C site.
cool thanksBecause the whole route was not complete when TRS2006 was released. There were a number of upgrades to the core game (improved steam physics for one) that were introduced along with the route as Trainz Classics 3
