setting brakes

Could someone please tell me how to set brakes on a consist before its uncoupled as I cant find out why it follows the loco because its seems really level to me.
Im using t2006 btw.

From memory clicking on the vehicle and then pressing the H key (for handbrake) after uncoupling works. For heavy loads you might have to do that to several vehicles depending on the grade.

If you are using AI you need to give it the Stop command. This will set the brakes.

Give the loco a wait for (eg 30 secs) before the uncouple command.

I am pretty sure you still need the stop command to set the brakes. The wait command just puts it into limbo. If you have a grade it will start to roll after the uncouple command.
