Just to let you know, it is normal for the patch to appear to stop about half-way through - this is normal (as long as the patching log does not say Patch Aborted).

The average time for a patch is between 1 and a half and 4 hours, depending on how much content is installed - installing it on a clean copy without any extra content installed should allow it to complete quicker.

Ok, thank you! :)

Yeah, I just uninstalled the game and are at this very moment reinstalling it again. I'm sure that things will work a lot better now.

It should do, just remember to run Trainz as administrator.

Shane

Right - Now I've tried to reinstall the game (that worked great) and decided to run as administrator (also seemed to work fine), until I found out that there was a completely different issue. This time I can't even download one single patch! :( I no longer get any message, that says that there is an avaiable patch for download and when I try to download a patch from Auran Trainz 2009's homepage, I get this annoying message:

"
Unable to determine Trainz installation path. Requesting user to specify installation location.

This patch file is not applicable to your current installation version.

(Build hash: 0fa7afa5ba80f8f6b13df2b6547e3ce2)

No valid patch operation was specified. Patching aborted.
"

From the point I look at it, there seems to be nothing that I can do. Well, sure, I can run the program and patches without being administrator and hoping that things will work fine.

Andreas,

You can specify the path where to install it. There should be a button to browse for the installation path, which is usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Auran\TS2009

Also run the patch installer as Administrator. This will allow the program write-access to the path where TS2009 is installed.

Remember. Never cancel the patch once it starts. The process can take a very long time. I run my updates when I know I have other things to do so I'm not tempted to do anything while the program is updating.

Hi John!

Thanks a lot for your reply! :) I managed to get it working, thanks to the tips from you and Shane - these tips really helped a lot! Now I am back from a busy weekend and the 4th and last patch is running at this very moment. This time I will make sure to let it be that way - looking forward to when it has finished! ;) Thanks again for your help - have a nice day! :)

/Andreas
