Seeing opinions, German WWII layout (Model railroad) interactive 1944

Seeing your opinion of the acceptability of making for distribution a fee Model railroad interactive layout based on winter of 19441945 Germany. Basically, supplying the western or eastern front. It would draw heavily from materials from Jimbos excellent website of the correct era materials. ( https://militarytrainz.jimdo.com/téléchargements/ ) I would have to make the interactive factories and repair facilities. I already have the low poly soldiers made up for it. The focus is on Supplies moving to the front and things needing repairs and people coming back.
Is this acceptable or should I shy away from public release due to the negative connotations of WWII German Railroads.

Given the track record of German railways in WW2 in helping exterminate hundreds of thousands of people, I'd say keep it in house.

You really do seem like a VERY angry guy Bolivar, which is why I keep you on my blocked list. However, sometimes the temptation to see what rubbish you've come up with is too great.
You have a point to some extent , railroads have been used in wars and exploitation world wide, but the use by the Germans in ww2 was particularly egregious and contentious as it was an attempt at mass genocide of particular sections of society .

The Op wasn't asking for your opinion about my opinion , he just wanted general advice, I'm not telling him NOT to do it, just that he might get some criticism, but if it was the case that someone wanted to make Chinese railroads which were used to persecute the weigars or Russian trains that were shipping people to gulags, I'd say exactly the same about them too , if someone was modelling the period where any railways were directly involved in government programs that involved mass murder I think its a bad idea , but thats JUST MY OPINION.

Any other time, no problem as far as I'm concerned , if the German route was free I'd probably download it myself as I'm very interested in WW11,but charging for it might raise some criticism.

The holocaust is particularly sensitive to many people, so that's why i suggested that it might better off not being a paid route.

I deleted the comment cap'n Dan the man, so as to not offend you. Yes When i realised that the Op did in fact want general advice, I deleted it. But for you to obviously screenshot my comments, and to get upset, well I must be living in your mind rent free. But it still stands, Danny boy, You are very selective about your opinions. You only mention Communist Chinese killing people because is because you have been been caught out. You might have mentioned your democratic opinion regarding all evil systems rather than just mentioning the German atrocities. But still, to your credit, better late than never.

whecsailorjr: don't hesitate to share Your work regardless the trolls trolling around ;-) I already have one WWII axis route and I remember one member of this forum making perfectly looking WWII field TRS dioramas (I can't find it now). I can also help You to find some other WWII related assets than that of Coutumariée (it is the Auran forum nick of the creator, jimdo is just name of public hosting domain).

It happened, although frequently I wonder if we will ever learn from mistakes of the past. If you whitewash history it gets forgotten but being as the majority the railroads were operated by civilians under German occupation at the time which including those railway workers in Germany itself it may well provide an insight into the challenges they and indeed yourself are about to face should you get started. Peter
 
I do not find a problem in making or publishing a route of the WWII; I have one from the eastern front and one from the desert. I have items published on my website and others that I plan to publish little by little. At the moment I only have German and Russian models and with time I will make models from other countries.
The only condition that I have imposed on myself is no SS, but as I say that decision is personal.

Good idea history should be embraced, not swept under the carpet. It's how we supposedly learn from our mistakes, as a species.
Personally WW1 and WW2 military history, is of great interest to me. Having had family members, involved in both wars.

A little backstory to my opinion on this topic:
Both sides of my family came from Germany, however my last name, Freeman, is the anglicization of Freiman, which is an Ashkenazi Jew surname. 3/4 of Ashkenazi Jews were killed in the Holocaust, though my ancestors were already in the US when WWII happened, though sometime in the past they converted to Christianity. I believe that if you don't learn from your history, you're doomed to repeat it. I suggest you make the route freeware instead of payware. I say full steam ahead, sir. This is the beauty of this sim/game to recreate or alter history in a way to visualize what happened and to tell a tell.

Jimbos content should not go to waste but be embraced and used to tell a story; and what a story to watch. I look forward to seeing this interesting route come together.

It is history, therefore I see no problem. The route would be transporting tanks, guns, and munitions not people east, so I see no problem. The cancel culture of today has swung things too far (IMO) and history is being wiped out. Heck, I have a big Confederate flag hanging from my wall in my computer room, I am not a racist, I just enjoy the history of the Civil War (or War of Rebellion depending whether you are "a'fer us or a'gane us").

Will there be jabos strafing the trains??:hehe:

yes, it would be a free download and for sure no SS.. Just concentrated on moving men and materials in two directions is all, along with Passenger movement.
