Yeah, that's their old SD40 freeware page.

Probably got knocked off the links when they took stuff down.

Cheers,
Joshua

Yup it is their old content. Thanks for pointing it out because I needed to grab some of the older content that got taken down for a few dependencies on my sessions.

yeah i'm confused, the SD-45's aren't there either... But i don't see them as payware!

Technology i tell you, it hates me with a passion. I'm getting a new trainz computer and TS2010 and look what happens...my favorite freeware diesels just up and friggin' vanish. Lovely.

Your signature image contravenes the COC in both size and content. Your belief is yours only and out of place on this forum.

This is the equivalent and snooping through someones personal items and then posting it publicly on top of that. If I wanted them to be available they would be on our download pages. Thanks for pointing this out though.

Okay I was playing with the address bar at rrmods.com I went into a payware SD40-2 page. The address then was www.rrmods.com/psd402.shtml. I then took away the p in psd402 to make the address www.rrmods.com/sd402.shtml and found:
BN SD40-2
C&NW SD40-2
ATSF SD40-2
HLCX blue SD40-2

FOR FREE

Correct me if there's a link from the home page. please.

I take it that they will vanish now?

You should of known better to put items on the internet that you did not want found. Nothing is safe on the internet, I do not pity you.

I would just LOVE to protest this right now. However, I believe that-

Ah, come on Joe. Can't you just leave the freeware on, and then just make the payware just as amazing as the GP15-1s? I mean, with a difference in texture, sounds, cab, and whatnot, the payware will still be just as appealing regardless if something is remotely like it available for free.

Yay! I'm rebellious!

Cheers,
Joshua

well I should apologize as well for mentioning this to the forum...

Is there a 10 commandments rule for trainz? I mean
"Thou shall not snoop through others files" or "Thou shall not use all caps when typing in forums". See what I mean?

Hi There Everybody.
In my view it is a very poor site anyway and if you want no one to see parts of it, either remove the content or don't put you on their in the first place.

Having purchased a product from this the site the other week, I found after payment I could not download the item and then it was only achieved after posting on this forum about my problems.

Without doubt the whole site and operation of this business needs to step up a gear

If I was you, I wouldn't put my personal items in a public place.

100% right amigacooke. With this organization it would seem that it is the customer or potential customer that is always in the wrong.

would seem to be very strange business logic.

Maybe he didn't snoop around and was using an outside search engine.
A search for "Trainz SD40-2" Had that hidden page as #1 on page 2.

Thank you Joe for giving us your amazing content, just ignore the "nitpickers" above. In any case if you do not want to see someone's content on a web site, any good web master worth his/her salt will place any sort of dummy index page in a folder not wanting to be accessed by outsiders or by renaming a page with an ending which can not be loaded. Like renaming that page "psd402.shtml" to "psd402.xc3wz5vaq" for example, meaning the page with its content is still there if needing this later on by you by just renaming it back to its old name but that page not getting it loaded in a browser.

There were 2 users in the past that I know of in this forum with their own web sites, where one could easily access some of their folders as they forgot to place a dummy index page in these. I notified both users about this and they corrected that.

Too easy :hehe:.

Cheers

The links are now gone; let's just put this to rest.

Hi There.
Before we "put this to bed" I believe the forum member who was addressed as a "snooper" should receive an apology. The person or people running this site are selling payware. They are looking to receive money from people for the products that they advertise. Therefore potential customers have every right to look around all aspects of the site to try to ensure they will receive value for money before handing over their hard-earned cash.

Should somebody create freeware content for Trainz and then place it on the download station or any website for others to access and download then any problems encountered by people trying to download that content is fair enough. After all they are looking to get something for free and should possibly expect problems as it is not a commercial operation.

However, payware is a different matter. In advertising payware you are setting up a commercial operation expecting to get money from the general public. Therefore the general public has a right to expect good service, fair treatment and quality products. I certainly would not expect to be called "a snooper" just for trying to ensure that it will receive the above treatment and services.

As I stated in my earlier posting, this organization needs to step up a gear in its approach to its potential customers, actual customers and all round standard of service it provides.
