Scrpit error problem with Internet Explorer 8?

While this problem is not exactly related to Trainz, would anyone be able to help me in this?

Over the last few days, I get this message when using IE8:

Stop running this script?

A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly.
If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive.

Press YES or NO

It usually only happens at the moment with one of the Google-owned pages.

Before anyone suggests using Firefox instead, that's too slow.

Script error

Hi - I looked around and found this on a forum for the exact same problem.

Found the damn solution FINALLY....

Do this:

1. Using a Registry Editor such as Regedt32.exe, open this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\InternetExplo rer\Styles

Note If the Styles key is not present, create a new key that is called Styles.
2. Create a new DWORD value called "MaxScriptStatements" under this key and set the value to the desired number of script statements.

HOWEVER whats different is this:

Set the "MaxScriptStatements" Value to DECIMAL, then type 0 to Disable the damn box, Voila! no more "script is taking for too long" box, i felt like i should let you guys know, no one seems to know this answer and i googled everywhere, and didnt feel like supporting the AHols at Experts exchange.

I hope this helps someone -- Unquote

Does this take you anywhere at all ??

Um no it doesnn't as I'm still trying to decifer what it means!

Oh by the way, I've checked for viruses. Just to make it clear, at the moment only affects the Google Maps page

EDIT: On this site, when I was about to name the link, instead of just posting the link, the browser on the top gives this message (I did it manually instead.:

This website is using a scripted window to ask you for information. If you trust this website, click here to allow scripted windows
And that brings me to another point, how come this message bar always appear when I try to name a link (instead of the URL), and only started to happen for the last few months? And if it appears do I click to allow or just close it without allowing?

Had that on a different website, don't know what causes it specifically as I eventually had to remove IE8 and stop it from installing because my security software doesn't work with it. But Google isn't the only place, I kept getting it on some pages a wrestling news site, I think it is related to certain ads, not the sites you look at since it only happened on some pages of that news site.

Dunno if it helps much but FWIW Google Maps works ok for me in Firefox 3.5.3 and in IE8 in both its normal and compatibility modes.

If you're using older versions it might be worth updating.

STOP using IE 8 and make Google Chrome your default browser. It is much faster with no clutter. IE 8 prevented my security from working so I looked for a replacement. Try it you will like it.
