saving everything?

Hello all.
In surveyor I can save any changes I make to a route.
In driver I can only save any movement changes I have made to rolling stock.
Is there a way to combine the two?
Loren

The route and sessions are created and save in Surveyor.
What you actually save in Driver is the state of the session, that is where you and your rolling stock are at athat particular time in the session.
They are two seperate functions, it does not make a lot of sense to combine them, though I think there is some way towards it in the upcoming TS2010.

Thanks for the reply Geoff.
I have a switch list generating program I would like to use in Trainz that updates the car placement with every run. If I use surveyor to change or add something, then I need to start the switch list program from the beginning. If I could combine the two saves I would not need to start over.

Hi again everybody.
I have not found a solution to this yet, but would really like to. Does anybody have any ideas ?
I am using TRS 2009.

You cant run a route and then save it as a session from within driver in order to do alterations to the map and return to where the rollingstock ended up. The map is saved in the sessions folder and will remain the same no matter what alterations you then carry out to the route in surveyor. Only newly created sessions or a saved session in surveyor mode where you originaly placed the rolling stock will use the altered map.

Hi Lorenw,

Sorry can't help you but I would sure like to have a switch list generating program, where did you get it?

Dave

Hello stagecoach.
Thank you for answering my question. Right now I am placing cars manually (in surveyor) after a session to update the map, so it looks like I need to continue that procedure.

Hello Dave.
Here is a site that list programs for switchlist makers as well as car cards and waybills. There are freeware as well as payware. Some are dos versions.

Be warned that programming these can be time consuming. There are databases that need to be filled with data (rolling stock and industries mainly) and then debugged. I am not trying to scare you off, but if you change routes often that is something to consider.
Good luck.
