Saving a session

I'm runnnig the ATSF #991 east session and it seems to take more than 1 minute to save a session. I checked where those .sav files can be found and saw some really big ones. Three files of exactly 297.741 kb and three files of about 12.000 kb. Those 297741 kb files are named ground.save. Do they save more than just a session?

I'm running TS12 on Windows Vista64 bit.

Regards,
Rob

Those big files sound like the route save. The session folder should be comparatively small - tiny in fact....

I didn't do anything route editing. I've been away from Trainz for some years so as a beginner I followed the tutorials. I'll check how big those .sav files are.

Hope this is the correct forum for this. I've been working on a layout for a few days and saving the session and route as I go along. Today 2010 crashed and upon restarting I can no longer find my route! It looks like maybe the files are still there but I get a blank screen where the route used to be. Any way to recover from this? Also, was I saving incorrectly? (I seemed to make it in and out of driver ok). Thank you. C.

Those sav files can be deleted I guess?

Is it wise to save a session when going uphill? I had to restart my session 6 times; everytime I got a message of a broken coupler the first second the session continued.

Welcome to Trainz TS12 and to the forums.

Try reposting this seperately as your post will get lost in the flow here. There are things that you can do to fix this.

One more question about saving. I played around a bit, did some saving and guess what: the size of my Sessions folder is 1.79 gig. Could someone please tell me something about saving sessions?
