Save - save as ( some options are not selectable)?

Hello,

In my route ( 2010 version ) I also have a session.

For some odd reason the following happens.

I open the session for editing

I'm placing an object ( for example a static car ) , or I'm changing the name within a renamable sign.

I'm clicking on the save option and I get the window which says

Please enter a name for the new route and session

The only option available is Save new route and session ( with green button highlighted ).

All the other options are not selectable

Overwrite existing route and

- Do not save session
- overwrite existing session
- create new session


if I click on the save as button, I'm receiving the window which says

Please enter a name for the new route and session

- save new route and session ( with green button ) is available
- save new session is not selectable

Why are the other options not selectable in the save and save as screens?

The layers are not locked

If you are on saving a route, your option will be "Do not save the session" and others. To save it, click on the "do not save.." It is a glitch. Doing this, will save it. Makes no sense, but it happens, at least to me. When saving sessions, you should have an option "Overwrite existing session". Click on it and will save it (session). What will be confusing is that depending on what you have installed in the session, will show up in the route or not. Track objects inserted in the session will not show in the route. If you ad a building, it will! Conversely, if you add a spline in the route, at least it happens to me, the spline will be messed badly in the session, and some times it will not (By chance?). You can of course merge a session to the route, adding to the complexity of the thing. OH! I forgot, I am speaking of TS12, in TS10 may not be exactly the same.

Thank you for your reply.

I would very much like to overwrite the existing session. Problem - I cannot select it - my only possibility is : save a new route and session.

I checked it in my 2009 version - same problem.

I will check it out in my 2012 version.

Clicked edit session - picked a session

placed an object and received the window

Do you wish to overwrite the existing session or create a new session?

the options

- overwrite existing session
- create existing session

are both selectable ( green button appears when selected ).

I used to have this in my 2009 and 2010 versions. Now for some strange reason, I'm getting something different.

In the route ( in the 2010 version ), I also have some layers. So I placed all created layers, except the route layer, in the session layer. Even that, doesn't make any difference.

I am not saying that this is what you observe, but try this: Depending on what you do in the session, the menu to save changes. Is somewhat related to what I said about splines, objects and rules. In some instances, I order to get all the menu options, I just move an object, and the I can save. You have to try everything.. as I did.

Well I started a search ... in the 2010 version

I clicked on edit route - did nothing with it - closed it and then opened the session within the route.

I placed a tree in it and then clicked on save

And what happened - I got the window which one normally expects

I didn't save the session but instead wanted to change some sign names ( object = renamable station sign name ) - so I did - when all station sign names were changed, I then clicked on save

and what window did I receive

Please enter a name for the new route and session

The only option available is Save new route and session ( with green button highlighted ). All others option again not selectable.

Very strange phenomenon.

In the past I could place a static object, a spline click on save and I would receive the save session window with its options.

Hello,

By saving the route with a different name - the options within save and save as became again useable.

So I continued and added some elements, and deleted some elements. I saved the session with a different name.

Every time when a part was added or deleted, I saved the session with a different name.

After a few new sessions, I noticed the following :

When opening the latest session or a previous one, there was no difference - previous ones or latest one were identically.

A part of the tram/train drivers were also gone.

Could it be that database is corrupted and no longer useable. Multiple database repairs didn't help.

Any ideas?
