Well, the train is back. I am positive that I exhausted all options in both versions (19/22) and that train was not available. But, I must have made the same error in both versions.Troubling. Or, there was a coincidental fix. I have worked on enough operating systems to know that an oddity of some change in the environment can be a factor. I was threatened with dismissal when I fixed such a problem by making a wiring change on the back-plane of an old Univac-494. The guys that worked for me hung a tag, with my name, on the new wire. A visiting engineer spotted it and turned me in. Called downtown and I was threatened with dismissal. The customer site manager reminded Univac that IBM was catching up, and might receive an improved evaluation at contract time. Univac grumbled vague threats and the matter was closed. I went on to design and build the first musical instrument operated by a computer. Westinghouse (the customer) asked me to do it. They wanted to out-do American Airlines who had a speaker on a bus and played squawks that passed for music The customer was very happy.. Again Univac threats, and a lucrative contract, gave them pause. So, when Walt Disney toured the computer center, the computer played real music from a real home-made organ with vibrato. The 494 thought it was a disc drive. Not long after I went across the hall and began a new 30 year (W) career. Never met Betty Furness.
So, THANKS for the help!
